The Role:

 

The Sr. Manager, Risk Culture & Conduct Governance leads and drives Sales Practices and Consumer Protection oversight activities in Canadian Banking ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures related to Conduct Governance and Consumer Protection

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Lead and drive a client focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Lead and drive alignment and sustainment of Canadian Banking Sales Practices by:
    • Working with business lines, delivery channels and support areas to identify and drive initiatives and efficiencies to adhere to our global sales principles and sound sales practices.
    • Acting as subject matter expert to support Sales Practices and Consumer Protection regulatory requirements and support those initiatives as required.
    • Working with the Goal Planning & Performance team to ensure the results allocation process is properly managed in accordance with the sales conduct framework & the spirit of the global sales principles.
  • Continuous sales practices monitoring to identify vulnerabilities & systemic issues for resolution through collaboration with Business and 2nd Line, and Support Function partners, following vulnerability resolution governance to ensure corrective actions are implemented and completed for any identified issues.
  • Drive continuous analysis and identification of sales practices insights by leveraging employee and customer feedback information across all channels and business lines to identify key trends and themes to enhance our holistic sales practices view and potential areas for further development.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Thorough knowledge of the Canadian financial services marketplace and a solid understanding of global sales practices and principles
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, PowerPoint)
  • Strong project management and organizational capabilities to drive simultaneous multiple priority deliverables
  • Solid relationship building and relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to influence and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations, concerns, and to identify and mitigate risk as required
  • Thorough knowledge of Branch and remote channel operations (personal and small business customers)
  • Excellent understanding of the client experience operating model, global sales principles, and FCAC Consumer Protection regulatory requirements
