As the 3rd Line of Defence, Internal Audit provides enterprise-wide, independent, and objective assurance over the design and operations of the Bank’s internal controls, risk management and governance processes. The Senior Manager, Audit Reporting assists in leading internal audit activities for International Banking in support of the Audit Department in executing on its global mandate, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives and all audit activities are conducted / executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
The Senior Manager, Audit Reporting is a dynamic, innovative, and trusted advisor who uses data to deliver industry leading assurance and insights to keep the Bank and our customers safe.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Management of the divisional Annual Planning and Risk Assessment process, ensuring audit methodology is used, objectives are met, and that appropriate working papers are maintained and conform to IIA and Department standards.
- Oversight and coordination of centralized divisional reporting, including ACRC, Board reporting, and executive management reporting.
- Review of all Country Audit Committee Materials and Regulatory Materials for consistency with the divisional ACRC.
- Communicate with Divisional leadership regarding audit methodology, strategy and results.
- Facilitate effective communication between audit teams, senior leadership, and governance forums, including conflict and issue resolution where needed.
- Supports ongoing monitoring activities to stay abreast of changes (business/industry/regulatory), emerging risks, and themes or systemic issues that may impact the risk assessment of the audit universe and the audit plan.
- Attends periodic meetings with key management officers to understand changes and new business initiatives and review key performance indicators.
- Supports divisional audit data ingestion strategy and data analytics execution strategy.
- Supports the SVP, IB Audit in advancing continuous auditing and analytics enabled assurance, consistent with Audit’s strategic priorities. May act as a bridge between analytics specialists and audit leadership, translating technical outputs into business relevant insights.
- Supports monitoring and tracking of divisional participation in / compliance with strategic audit initiatives.
- Works with other audit teams as required.
- Carries out specific projects.
- Supports a client focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Plans, documents, and seeks agreement in advance to the project approach and confirms conclusions upon completion in writing.
- Ensures Scotiabank standards and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Code of Ethics are maintained in completion of all assignments.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and regulators as required.
- Interacts and coordinates with other groups involved.
- Supports a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? – We would love to work with you if you have:
- University/Post secondary degree in Business or equivalent. Relevant Audit or business certifications.
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Spanish language speaking skills are an asset.
- Working knowledge of the operations and regulatory environments for each unit as applicable.
- Proven ability to work in high levels of ambiguity and in a rapidly changing environment.
- Highly proficient at applying Scotiabank methodology.
- Strong analytical skills in the use of data analytics or visualization tools.
- Ability to execute and supervise multiple deliverables at any given time.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong people management and coaching/development skills.
- Curiosity mindset.
