The Role

The Senior Manager, GWO Regulatory Trade Reporting leads a team within Global Wholesale Operations responsible for the effective execution, oversight, and continuous improvement of Global OTC Regulatory Reporting controls. The role ensures Scotiabank meets its global regulatory commitments for complete, accurate, and timely trade reporting, while supporting business initiatives and driving control and process enhancements.

This position has global scope and requires close partnership with Technology, Compliance, Business Risk Management, Regulatory Business Initiatives, and other key stakeholders.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Lead and manage a team of 12, with 3 direct reports, responsible for the execution, documentation and oversight of daily and periodic regulatory reporting controls, including breach management, escalation, and remediation. 
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of OTC trade reporting across G20 jurisdictions, including CFTC, SEC, OSC, HKMA, MAS, ASIC, ESMA, and FCA.
  • Maintain strong, up to date knowledge of global OTC regulatory reporting requirements and related control expectations.
  • Work closely with Business Risk Management, Technology, Compliance, Regulatory Business Initiatives as well as other stakeholders to support key business objectives.
  • Drive change initiatives to strengthen regulatory reporting controls, enhance monitoring, and incorporate meaningful metrics into management reporting.
  • Produce clear and accurate executive reporting for global governance committees, highlighting key risks, issues, and trends.  Global coverage will require periodic conference calls during Asian and European business hours.
  • Deliver management commitments related to regulatory reviews, internal testing, and audit observations, including remediation and evidence of closure.
  • Promote and embed the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite in day to day activities and decision making.
  • Build a high performance, inclusive team culture through coaching, development planning, and succession management.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Prior experience in business operations, operational risk, compliance, or front office functions.
  • Demonstrated in depth knowledge of OTC regulatory reporting requirements and reporting logic across multiple regimes (e.g., Canadian Trade Reporting, CFTC, SEC, MAS, HKMA, ASIC, EMIR).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory reporting technology infrastructure and front office source systems.
  • Experience leading or implementing regulatory change initiatives and reporting or control enhancements.
  • Strong business analysis and analytical skills, with experience across the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and drive process improvements in a complex, fast paced environment.
