The Senior Manager, Regulatory Risk Management will be part of the Enterprise Risk Team in Global Risk Management reporting to the Director, Regulatory Risk Management. The Senior Manager will work with the Director to design, implement, and execute regulatory programs for the Global Risk Management function.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
- Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of the GRM Regulatory Compliance Management (“RCM”) Program, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk governance and regulatory expectations.
- Advance program maturity across RCM pillars through strong stakeholder collaboration and effective oversight mechanisms
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a risk-based approach to coordinate and oversee compliance with other GRM regulatory programs. This will include the review of systems, processes, procedures, reports, and transactions to assess whether governance, risk management and control processes are designed and operating as intended.
- Provide GRM teams with support as it relates to the GRM RCM and other regulatory program requirements as appropriate
- Monitor best practices at other financial institutions in Canada and globally
- Collaborate with other internal stakeholders across the three lines of defence
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Drive stakeholder engagement, management and alignment
- Provide ongoing communication and interface with stakeholders and ensures timely reporting of status and escalation of issues
- Manage required changes to scope/deliverables, schedules, resources and budgets, and ensures changes follow proper Change Management Process
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant RCM, regulatory risk, audit and/or professional practice management experience in the financial services industry
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree is an asset
- Spanish language skills would be an asset
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI etc.) preferred.
- Expert skills would be an asset (ability to build macros, build advanced tools and workflows in SharePoint, etc.)
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate good judgement, confidence to make strategic decisions and balance multiple initiatives with minimal executive intervention
- Demonstrated success in working in virtual teams and across jurisdictions and functional areas
- Ability to gather, analyze, organize, document and present large volumes of information in a succinct and organized manner
- Prior exposure to a control environment in risk management, compliance, or audit
- Project Management experience and change management experience would be advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound knowledge of regulatory reporting expectations for the financial services industry
- Experience working in a team environment and proven ability to provide guidance; promoting good communication, objective thinking and cooperation
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and strong communication skills are essential to influence and collaborate effectively with others.
