Purpose

- Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Regulatory Programs, the Senior Manager Records and Information Management supports the implementation and execution of the global Records & Information Management (RIM) Program in order to facilitate effective and efficient information management across Scotiabank in accordance with legal, regulatory and internal business requirements.
Accountabilities
- Take a leading role in working with Technology, Business Lines and Corporate Functions to enable people, process and technology capabilities in order to facilitate mature digital records management for both structured and unstructured data
- Collaborate with Technology, other stakeholders and vendors as needed to ensure technology solutions are designed to meet evolving business and regulatory needs as well as RIM Program requirements
- Develop structured and unstructured data records management solutioning, guidance, and other support to assist stakeholders with meeting RIM requirements
- Develop and facilitate plans and reporting on unstructured and structured data records management maturity, including KPIs/KRIs, key milestones and enable aligned project plan development
- Develop and manage strong relationships with Business Lines and Corporate Functions in support of their efforts to adhere to RIM Program requirements
- Develop, maintain and implement RIM related policies, procedures, processes and other supporting documentation to enable RIM Program compliance, particularly with respect to integration between the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) related activities and RIM Program
- Lead efforts to ensure RIM considerations are reflected in relevant risk assessment processes and integrated into reporting and other downstream considerations
- Liaise with professional industry associations/networks including ARMA in order to assess and advise on industry best practices, engage in benchmarking and incorporate learnings into the RIM Program
- Provide advice to Business Lines and Corporate Functions on RIM Program requirements and support resolution of outstanding issues to facilitate their compliance with Program requirements
- Support other RIM Program initiatives, including in relation to records inventories, retention schedule, reporting, training and program development
- Assist the Director with other Enterprise Regulatory Programs responsibilities, as required, to fulfill the team’s mandate and comply with Regulatory Compliance Management and RIM Program requirements
- Support the overall design and implementation of an effective global enterprise-wide RIM Program
- Facilitate reporting, training, communication and change management activities as required to support RIM program implementation and ongoing execution
- Foster and promote team spirit, engage in coaching and development and otherwise build effective working relationships with team members
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings to discuss upcoming initiatives, guidance, and milestones

- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
Education/Experience
- BA or Postgraduate degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Records and Information Management, Data/Information Governance, Regulatory Compliance, or Technology-oriented roles.
- Experience with digital records management (structured data and unstructured data), requirements and capabilities, including design/implementation and adoption of technology solutions and supporting BAU processes
- Familiarity with records technology requirements, business requirement development and technology lifecycle deployment to enable digital records management capability implementation would be an asset
- 3+years’ experience in a records and information management or information governance role would be an asset
- Knowledge of records and information management industry standards, best practices, methodologies, and frameworks would be an asset.
- 3+ years’ experience developing, implementing, and managing similar large-scale, cross-functional organizational change initiatives would be an asset
- Experience and knowledge of change management, communications and learning principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Solid understanding of financial institutions, infrastructures, and markets
