Purpose


The Senior Manager, Projects is responsible for leading, planning, and coordinating project-related activities for Canadian Banking including but not limited to Benchmark Rate Reform. 

 

In this role you will work closely with impacted business lines within Canadian Banking, along with service partners in Pricing & Revenue Optimization, Group Treasury, Commercial Global Engineering, Global Operations, Global Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal to deliver a smooth transition for project implementation.  

 

While providing handling of project related activities and requests, you will also establish regular cadence and governance to deliver timely reporting, working group calls, and update meetings.  You will attend working group calls with project representatives from other business lines. The Senior Manager is also responsible for liaising with communications and change management to ensure business line specific requirements are adequately delivered and employees and clients are informed of updates through internal and external channels.

 

You will work in a highly dynamic project environment and you are expected to integrate multiple, multifunctional activities while quickly adapting to evolving business priorities. This position will have two direct reports.

 

The scope of this role requires skills and expertise in project management, change management, training and facilitation, and communication related to diverse set of systems, applications, products, and infrastructure.

 

Accountabilities: 


•    Works in collaboration with enterprise technology and stakeholder partners to ensure Canadian Business Banking’s project requirements are prioritized and successfully implemented.
•    Point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for Canadian Business Banking’s project activities and processes. Advises on enhancements, industry updates, and implementation requirements, including training, as needed.
•    Conducts research and analysis and incorporates reporting from stakeholder partners to forecast, identify, validate, develop, and recommend delivery activities.
•    Develops and prepares portfolio exposure and progress reporting on project activities where needed (e.g., contract monitoring) to provide regular updates to stakeholders, regulators, and senior leadership.
•    Develop/design and maintain presentation and dashboarding materials to inform the line of business and enterprise program office as to the overall status of project activities.
•    Participate in cross-functional teams, including acting as primary business representative to various working groups.
•    Lead Canadian Banking sub-working groups to address specific workstreams.
•    Develop and deliver training and support materials to Canadian Banking business lines and select service partners.
•    Is empowered to make on-the-spot decisions on project scope and requirements, in alignment with Canadian Banking’s strategy.
•    Provide support in handling of ad hoc regulatory or program requests.
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. 
•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

 

Education / Experience / Other Information 

•    Post-secondary education (Bachelors’ degree) in Business, Finance, Information systems, Information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
•    3+ years of experience working with credit and / or pricing in commercial banking segments – ability to read and understand documentation regarding pricing and costs
•    Experience working in an operations department / role a strong asset
•    Benchmark Rate Reform experience a strong asset
•    People Management experience preferred
•    Experience leading and managing projects, including project costing and financial approval process
•    Business Productivity Application skills – Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI 
•    Ability to complete Data Visualizations a strong asset
•    Strategic influencing skills to effectively persuade and influence peers and senior management – You will be involved with multiple stakeholder partner teams and use negotiation/influencing skills to ensure progress and delivery on a timely basis. 
•    Ability to foster and cultivate business opportunities, partnerships and strong collaboration skills
•    Strong critical thinking and timely decision-making skills
•    High level of flexibility and adaptability
•    Ability to work non-standard work hours as required
•    Ability to travel (across Canada) if required
