The Senior Manager, Product and Program Design, Marketing and Communications contributes to the profitable growth and competitiveness in the real estate secured market by conceptualizing, developing, implementing business strategies in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. 

The incumbent is responsible for executing on the strategic vision of the secured ScotiaLine portfolio.  The role ensures that end-to-end product profitability is maximized through acquisition and utilization campaigns while deepening the customer relationship and ensuring the product is competitively positioned across various delivery channels. 


The Senior Manager supports/leads the execution of cross-departmental, multi-channel projects and manages other initiatives to help ensure an integrated strategy.


Key Accountabilities


  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.


  • Identifies, creates or enhances products/programs that provide Real Estate Secured Lending with a unique point of differentiation across all sales channels. By seeking field input and reviewing industry leading offerings we will stay current and ahead of our competitors


  • Identifies, initiates, and evaluates new and existing sales lead/utilization campaigns for the secured ScotiaLine product with a unique point of differentiation across all sales channel by creating, maintaining & implementing a product development plan for the secured ScotiaLine portfolio for Retail customers to meet P&L objectives.


  • Grow the portfolio by working with internal partners to lead the development and implementation of product marketing strategies & objectives and recommending and implementing approved pricing strategies.


  • Collaborates with Marketing and communications partners to deliver product expertise for mass marketing and targeted marketing campaigns designed to maximize business opportunity and revenues. Monitors the success of our campaigns and manages the SIMON marketing content to ensure relevancy.


  • Manages our multi-channel communication process RESL to reduce redundancy, streamline our approach with external partners, and ensure that communications are delivered within established timelines


  • Supports training initiatives and tools to enhance the positioning of products and programs for branches, alternate channels, and the Customer Contact Centre by developing and/or coordinating materials


  • Supports digital initiatives for the RESL team as the primary SME by working with, Scotia OnLine and mobile banking teams to prioritize and champion customer facing solutions designed to improve the mortgage and secured lending customer experience


  • Business owner on the external broker portal which is the primary channel to communicate with and provide services to broker partners, the largest source of business to the RESL portfolio.


  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Education and Other Requirements

  • University Degree
  • Experience in RESL sales or service a requirement
  • Digital, Marketing and/or Communications Experience an asset
