The Senior Manager, Product Risk Advisor, GBM AML Risk will be responsible for the supporting existing and emerging banking product initiatives by performing assessment of potential AML and Sanctions risk exposure.

The senior manager will also assist in ensuring the business strategies, plans, and intiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing AML/ATF and Sanctions regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Senior Manager is responsible to deliver effective challenge by the 2nd line of defense across the Global Business Payment (GPB) businesses. This role will work with stakeholders in all three lines of defence, including GBM business units, GBP, 1B Oversight, US Onboarding, Enterprise Program Office, Business Line AML teams and FIU.




  • Guides the business line in development of first line of defence AML/ATF and Sanctions controls
  • Identifies unacceptable AML/ATF risk, collaborating with front-line and proactively managing and escaling these situations
  • Identifies and evaluate compliance requirements for new and existing product types
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in new product development initiatives and compliance
  • Drives product launches including working with 1st line of defense, executives, and other product management team members
  • Performs market research, competitive analysis/profiles, emerging technologies, and stay well informed of market trends and regulatory changes impacting solution area
  • Subject matter expertise in Financial Crimes Compliance with and emphasis on New Product Development
  • Strong product management skills including an ability to differentiate between building what is asked for and what is truly needed
  • Effectively manage risk through comprehensive understanding of the customer's business model and relationship, utilizing understanding of AML typologies, products, and geography risks
  • Designs all relevant program documentation, content, and processes
  • Remains up to date on regulatory changes and landscape, best practices and cutting-edge developments in the industry
  • Participates in building tactical road-map and set objectives that align with product lanches from an AML and Sanctions risk management perspective
  • Provides support in coodinating/responding for requests for information for Internal Audit, Regulators, and Law Enforcement as part of internal and external reviews, audits, examinations, and investigations
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision / values / business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team
  • Develops training plans for business units and assists in the development and / or presentation of the training as appropriate
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions




  • Expert knowledge of Global Banking and Markets and Banking business unit functions, procedures, cash management and payment products, capital and financial markets, policies and how the various supporting units interact
  • Experience working in or with various product offerings
  • Thorough written and verbal skills required to prepare communications and interact effectively with other Bank departments and external parties
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in financial services operations and AML/ATF compliance
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in business, related field or equivalent experience
  • ACAMS certified preferred
  • Strong managerial, communications, analytical, organizational, project management, and planning skills
  • Thorough knowledge of related regulatory requirements including KYC, AML, Anti-Terrorist Financing Policies, Compliance Control & Operational Risk Self-Assessments legislation and procedures
  • Expert knowledge of AML/ATF regulatory requirements and expectations
