Purpose

The Senior Manager, Portfolio Insights & Analytics contributes to the overall success of the Global Portfolio Insights and Analytics team (GPIA) within Global Investment Solutions (GIS), ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s and broader GIS global mandates and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted in adherence with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Responsible for providing investment portfolio proposals and support for OCIO, UHNW, GFOG clients and RFP for institutional clients across domestic and international wealth distribution channels. This role requires strong investment knowledge, data fluency, and the ability to lead a high-performing technical investment insights team.

The position of Senior Manager, Global Wealth Portfolio Insights & Analytics, will report to the Managing Director, Global Advisory Programs & Platforms, Global Portfolio Solutions.

 

Accountabilities

Proposal services for OCIO/ UHNW/GFOG and RFP offering for domestic and international wealth channels.

  • Lead and/or support the end-to-end UHNW proposal and reporting services offered to Advisors and Relationship Managers.
  • Collaborate with internal partners including Global Knowledge Centres (GKC), Advisors, Relationship Managers, the Global Family Office Group (GFOG), and other stakeholders to deliver best‑in‑class UHNW proposal solutions.
  • Oversee all data requirements for UHNW proposals, including fulfillment performance, holdings, and benchmark data for both public and private assets.
  • Serve as the central coordinator for UHNW external account reviews and proposal opportunities across global wealth channels.
  • Partner with GKC teams to review investment portfolios held outside of Scotiabank and identify UHNW opportunities.
  • Support the OCIO program’s reporting needs by working closely with the UHNW planning team and validating investment data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Co‑lead and contribute to the institutional RFP submission process across ScotiaMcLeod,  Scotia Jarislowsky Fraser, and MD Management.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all proposals and reports produced for domestic and international Wealth Management channels.

 

Leading Strategic Initiatives for Global Portfolio Insights and Analytics

  • Support the execution of a multi‑year strategy to deliver scalable, robust proposal services, client reporting, managed platform collateral, and investment data and analytics capabilities across all domestic and international wealth channels.
  • Design a scalable, bespoke investment proposal framework tailored to UHNW and GFOG clients across global wealth distribution channels.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality, efficiency, and scalability of processes supporting the broader Global Portfolio Insights and Analytics service offering.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive reporting dashboard for senior leadership, providing insights into proposal activity, fee‑based and managed program trends, and performance against key KPIs for the Investment Insights and Analytics group.

  • Leads and guides teams in working together, ensuring collaboration across regions and business lines to deliver on strategic priorities.
  • Facilitates team integration, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing and a best-practices approach to execute a consistent and standardized approach to investment data and analytics platform.

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Handling all inquiries in a professional, timely, and client focused manner
  • Providing thorough, thoughtful, and accurate responses to all client inquiries ensuring proper follow-through on all resolutions

  • Actively share knowledge and experience to enhance the development of all team members

 

Education and Experience

  • Over 7 years of investment related experience with understanding of financial markets and portfolio management theory
  • Experience working effectively with Advisors and Portfolio Managers
  • Strong knowledge of investment performance attribution/ reporting and methodologies.
  • Undergraduate degree required in business, finance, economics or accounting is preferred.
  • CFA or CAIA charter holder or candidate for the designation preferred.
  • Experience with Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, FactSet, MS Office, Power BI, and VBA/Python programming language is desirable
  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Strong skills in analytics; written and verbal communication; relationship building; self-management; and diligence.
