Job Purpose:
The Global Operations (“GO”) Finance team oversees the planning and analysis of the operating expenses for Global Operations Units (including Global Contact Centres, Retail & Business Service Centre, GBS Bogota, Corporate Services, Collections & Fraud, GO Governance, Procurement). The Senior Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day processes, including:
- Finance support to Global Operations groups (including profit planning, forecasting, management reporting & analysis)
- Ability to perform detailed analytical work, draw key messages, and create effective presentations for senior management in a timely manner
- The incumbent supports the Director to foster a high-performance team that acts as a value–added Finance partner to the GO Units. He /she will build trusted stakeholder partnerships with GO Units, Business Line (CB / IB/ GBM) Finance and Corporate Function Finance teams and will act as an important point person within the GO Finance team.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Management Reporting, Forecasting & Planning
- Manage the expense management process for GO. Activities include: consolidation, planning, forecasting, analysis, testing for reasonability and reporting of actual spending against budgets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Manage reporting, analysis and commentary for GO on monthly results and variances for inclusion in the monthly report on Corporate Functions.
- Manage the annual business line allocation process, analyse results and provide meaningful reporting and analysis to Finance and the Business Line Heads on changes.
- Produce meaningful analysis on expenses in support of identifying opportunities for cost reductions and/or avoidance.
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Develop and sustain strategic relationships with key contacts, business partners and stakeholders (GO Senior management, Corporate Functions Finance, BL Finance) to deliver on mandate and provide value-added analysis and insight.
- Act as a change agent, lead and communicate the Corporate Functions expense management mandate to key partners and stakeholders, and keeping it current
- With the Director, act as subject matter expert partnering with GO senior management to provide analysis and support to enable them to make informed decisions pertaining to the impact of budget planning, forecasting and potential cost reduction activities, as well as the ongoing management of their business’ operations which have a budget impact.
Leadership & Employee Engagement
- Developing and executing meaningful employee development plans; motivating and contributing to the development of subordinate/team performance in current job and for future opportunities.
- Recognizing direct report development needs and taking an active role in addressing gaps. Exhibiting self-awareness around one’s own impact on the team and when necessary, adjusting leadership and motivational qualities to maximize subordinate/team performance.
- Facilitating a customer focused culture with strong performance orientation and open communication.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- University degree in Accounting or Finance or similar discipline
- CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation
- 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the perspective of continually seeking opportunities for improvement
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including ability to create / manage large financial models, pivot tables. Experience with EGL, OBI, Hyperion and SmartView is an asset
- Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), including communication with senior management (VP+) as well as convey information to non-finance professionals
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to coach a team of financial professionals
- Working knowledge of Spanish is an asset
- A results-oriented individual with ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and work accurately within tight deadlines
- Ability to understand and support the needs of a wide range of Global Operations functions, while balancing the Finance’s need to support cost containment/reduction
