The Senior Manager, Payments Network Partnerships is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day partnerships with the networks, supporting the development of our payments strategy and roadmap. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Manages Payment Network relationships and organizes the agenda between the network and operating model across Canadian Banking and key partners.
- Supports network contract management & negotiation support, including revenue and fee analysis, scenarios planning, incentives, ongoing contract KPI monitoring.
- Manages the incentives budget, SOW / approvals and ongoing spend.
- Provide oversight of network mandates, initiatives & operational improvements. Works in collaboration with VP and Director to drive strategic direction for network optimization and future roadmaps.
- In collaboration with the Director, lead critical projects to deliver new payments solution with an cross-functional project team.
- Manages network reporting requirements to deepen our understanding of client behavior, portfolio and industry trends.
- Structure internal payments discussions and updates with Payments leadership, and raise awareness on industry trends and potential implications for Scotia with our key partners.
- Contribute to business cases and analysis of new payment initiatives that have potential for new revenue sources, scalability and integration into additional business lines within the Bank’s Payments ecosystem
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Post-secondary education (MBA an asset)
- 8+ years of Payments experience
- Deep understanding of payment networks economics, industry trends and opportunities
- Excellent analytical, modeling and strategy development expertise
- Strong relationship management and collaboration across multiple stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially creating and delivering strong business focused strategic plans
- MS Office including proficiency with Power Point, Excel presentations
- Experience leading a cross-functional team or major project workstream
- Flexible and adaptable within a dynamic business environment with ability to anticipate and react quickly to technological/market change

- This role is located in our downtown Toronto, ON office location. Non-standard hours may be required to meet business objectives.
