As the Senior Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions, you will be responsible for managing and supporting due diligence, negotiation, acquisition and integration efforts for the Canadian Bank from an HR perspective. This role manages strategic HR initiatives, ensuring the timely execution of activities and alignment with strategic goals and objectives. This role also performs documentation, analysis, and due diligence activities related to major Global HR programs, policies and processes, and strategic initatives.


Key Accountabilites:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Manages the development and execution of major Global HR programs, policies, processes, and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Identifies and assesses major implications in business strategies, develops solutions and tactics to address them
  • Collaborates with project teams to ensure deadlines are met and all activities are aligned with strategic goals and objectives
  • Collaborates with business leaders, project teams and other relevant areas within HR to complete due diligence activities and transfer expertise
  • Advises on HR strategies, programs, policies and practices to support business goals, and to assist in effective planning, change management and implementation activities of any M&A, partnership, or divestitures being conisdered by Canadian Banking  
  • Provides expertise on all aspects of M&A, and advises on best HR practices
  • Monitors and analyzes leading trends and best practices in HR to ensure programs, policies, and processes remain market competitive


Functional Competencues:

  • CHRL designation is an asset
  • Significant experience in Human Resources
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of Bank policies, processes and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of Organizational structure and complexity
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory considerations and obligations related to M&A
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Drives innovative solutions that create value for HR partners
  • Ability to think strategically and cultivate networks and relationships
  • Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and results
  • Understands data and is able to synthesize and communicate meaning of data



  • Post-secondary Degree in Human Resources or Business or related field


This position is a 1-year contract.
