Purpose
Leads the planning and execution of a Product Marketing strategy for Insurance in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Experience in Insurance is preferred.

Provides strategic leadership by driving a client centric culture that deepens relationships, enhances customer experience, and leverages the broader Bank’s capabilities, insights, and expertise.

Leads the planning, development, and execution of measurable, insight driven marketing and communication strategies that elevate product awareness and consideration, directly supporting sales and revenue goals for Insurance products.

Leverages deep consumer, market, and product expertise to shape compelling value propositions and position Scotiabank’s Insurance offerings uniquely and competitively across priority customer segments.

Guides the strategic direction of marketing planning through ongoing monitoring of consumer sentiment, market conditions, competitive activity, and nearterm commercial opportunities, improving agility and optimizing resource and budget allocation.

Analyzes and synthesizes insights from research, customer analytics, and performance data to establish the strategic foundation for highimpact, benefitled campaign briefs and integrated marketing initiatives.

Oversees the development and deployment of integrated marketing plans, ensuring seamless execution across owned channels (email, Scotia Online, branch, telemarketing) and digital channels (social, display, search, etc.) to deliver consistent, measurable results.

Champions creative excellence and brand consistency, aligning crossfunctional partners on a unified, insightdriven creative vision and using data, research, and performance results to guide continuous improvement.

Demonstrates strong senior stakeholder leadership, influencing business lines, thirdparty underwriters, Digital Marketing, Channel teams, Analytics, Customer Experience, and Legal/Compliance partners to ensure alignment and shared accountability for outcomes.

Provides coaching, guidance, and thought leadership to team members and crossfunctional partners, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and performance while helping develop marketing talent across the organization.

Leads complex initiatives with confidence, removing roadblocks, managing competing priorities, and ensuring delivery excellence across multiple teams and workstreams.

Ensures all marketing activities align with the Bank’s risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and the Canada Bank Act, integrating sound judgment and compliance rigor into planning and execution.

Supports and strengthens operational effectiveness and internal controls, ensuring adherence to the Bank’s Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field is desired.

8+ years’ experience in marketing, brand/product/mass marketing and/or account management
-
Proficient in Project Management, able to manage multiple programs leveraging targeting and mass marketing best practices and principles

Superior communication skills with the ability to influence and guide strategy, campaign testing and optimization

Exposure to the Agile methodology

Expertise in driving performance growth across multiple dimensions and KPIs

Knowledge of the marketing tech stack

Working Conditions

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel domestically.
