Purpose


Leads and oversees integrated marketing for Medicus within Global Wealth Management Marketing, ensuring that business strategies, plans and initiatives are successfully supported by integrated marketing plans and campaigns are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

What you’ll be doing


In this role, you’ll lead the marketing strategy for Medicus, using insights about physicians and their financial needs to shape campaigns that build awareness, generate qualified leads and support business growth. You’ll oversee the end-to-end campaign process—from defining audiences and objectives to launching, optimizing and measuring performance—while working closely with partners across marketing, business lines, technology, compliance, legal and external agencies.
You’ll also help connect the full customer journey, ensuring marketing plans are coordinated across channels and aligned to business priorities. As a people leader, you’ll foster an inclusive, high-performing team environment and manage day-to-day work with a strong focus on risk, compliance, operational effectiveness and Scotiabank’s values.

 

Accountabilities

 

• Leads a personalized and insight-driven marketing strategies that differentiate Medicus in the market by cultivating a deep understanding of physicians and the unique financial challenges and opportunities they face throughout their careers, focused on how a pension plan can support their overall financial goals.

• Leads acquisition campaign strategies for Medicus in support of the business’s priorities and growth targets, ensuring that lead-generation campaigns are optimized to meet marketing qualified lead (MQL) targets derived from MD’s net-new client targets.

• Oversees the end-to-end go-to-market strategy and process through which marketing campaigns are planned and executed, including campaign objectives, research and insights gathering, defining target audiences, developing strategies, executing plans and measuring performance.

• Champions Marketing by developing and leveraging key relationships across a network of trusted partners to support the team’s outcomes, which include business line management teams, the broader marketing organization, technology, compliance, legal and relevant vendors and agencies.

• Leads and partners with Senior Managers across the Physician Marketing team, as well as Senior Managers supporting Medicus Comms and the Medicus business lines to build integrated and segmented customer journey maps that enable strategic planning and delivery of content across the full breadth of the marketing funnel, from awareness to conversion.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

•   Supports the Medicus Pension Plan business line across Canada
•    Responsibility for budget management oversight and approval process through Director
•    Collaboration across various teams (centres of excellence) within Global Marketing to ensure strong coordination of efforts, delivery of necessary services, alignment to business and
marketing goals and KPIs and overall strategies

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have the following:


•    University degree in marketing, communications or business, or equivalent experience
•    5-10 years’ progressive experience in marketing or advertising, preferably within the financial services industry
•    Knowledge of the medical profession and/or Canadian health care an asset
•    Solid understanding of the financial services and wealth management industry
•    Knowledge of physicians/medical profession and/or Canadian healthcare environment an asset
•    An established track record of launching successful campaigns and driving qualified leads into the sales funnel
•    Solid understanding of client segmentation and translating segment needs into marketing plans
•    Demonstrates ability to use data, insights and analytics to achieve marketing and business objectives
•     Demonstrates ability to effectively plan and manage the work of diverse, multiple teams.
•    Demonstrates ability to influence groups and/or more senior associates.
•    Demonstrates ability to plan processes and work across broad, diverse groups to assure work is completed in a timely manner.
•    Demonstrates effectiveness in leading/facilitating with senior business leaders on broad/controversial topics inside and outside the organization.
•    Demonstrates sound judgment in resolving matters of high complexity


Working Conditions


• Leading a geographically diverse team in a hybrid environment, with current expectation to be in office 3 days a week. Occasional domestic travel required, primarily between Toronto, where Scotiabank is headquartered, and Ottawa, where half of Medicus staff is located.
