Contribute to the overall success of the Credit Cards and Unsecured Lending business in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Lead strategic initiatives representing the Lending Portfolio Management team, contributing to the design, execution, and optimization of lending product strategies that drive growth and profitability.
  • Strategically influence cross-functional projects involving product, marketing, analytics, and risk to deliver innovative solutions aligned with portfolio objectives and key results.
  • Conduct financial, market, and industry analyses to inform recommendations for lending product enhancements, new programs, pricing and strategic opportunities.
  • Recommend process improvements and efficiencies for future programs, and initiatives across the Lending products portfolio.
  • Contribute to the development of new programs from concept to execution, including preparing business cases, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Manage and track project plans for strategic initiatives, identifying milestones, timelines, and resource requirements to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support communication strategies for product initiatives, ensuring timely updates and continuous improvements based on feedback and performance.
  • Drive post-implementation analysis in partnership with Finance and Analytics to measure results and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.  Implement and execute business controls to meet obligations with respect to risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

 
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have: 

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA is an asset
  • 5-10 years of professional experience, payments and banking industry experience is an asset
  • Understanding of Lending P&L levers
  • Strong strategic thinking and results orientation
  • Strong facilitator, with the ability to lead teams to achieve overall objectives
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams and working cross-functionally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Product, project management or strategy experience operating a business is a definite asset
  • Experience and competency with building presentations, project plans and dashboards
