Purpose

The Senior Manager, Learning & Development will provide learning consultation and advice to key Compliance partners in support of the Global Compliance Learning Program. The individual will contribute to the success of the Global Compliance Learning Program by conducting learning needs assessments, developing/delivering learning solutions, tracking, measuring, and reporting on compliance learning to meet Bank and regulatory requirements. In addition, the individual ensures all activities adhere to learning standards and follow governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

This role is responsible for the design and delivery of learning courses and ensuring that learning experiences are aligned with learning and performance objectives and business outcomes. This role will also contribute to the development of a Compliance curriculum, learning plans and programs for a global audience across the three Lines of Defence. 

The Senior Manager, Learning & Development is a strategic business partner that is proactive at identifying learning needs and driving learning programs that build compliance skills and competencies required to support the future requirements of the Compliance Program.

 

 

Accountabilities

  • Champions a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Contributes to the development of Global Compliance learning to enhance and strengthen the overall Global Compliance Learning Program through the development of tailored, role-based learning.
  • Conducts learning needs assessment to identify compliance knowledge gaps arising from regulatory changes, regulatory exam findings, risk assessments, industry trends and lesson learned and develops appropriate learning solutions to remediate gaps and provides recommendations on program execution and design that inform the annual learning plan.
  • Plans, designs and develops Global Compliance instructor-led learning, self-directed eLearning and Podcasts end-to-end ensuring learning achieves high quality standards and sustainment. This includes using various software tools to design courses and deploy to targeted audiences through Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Works closely with internal and external SMEs to develop learning for various Global Compliance Programs, utilizing various learning formats to deliver learning that is both engaging and effective for a diverse audience in international locations, whilst providing advice and Counsel on learning execution.
  • Implements appropriate assessment techniques to test knowledge retention by learners through quizzes, tests, other post-evaluation, etc.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of learning programs, identifies the strengths and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provides timely reporting on activities to management, including progress reports and applicable budgets, ensuring that any issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Provides input on the design and development of major initiatives, including feedback on new learning programs as requested and recommends ongoing updates and enhancements of current programs to the content owner.
  • Manages the “lessons learned” inputs from various stakeholders and ensures they are incorporated into existing courses/programs.
  • Keeps abreast of global best practices in Compliance Learning and how it can be adopted to strengthen the delivery of the Learning Program.
  • Considers the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Education/Experience

  • University degree in Education, HR, Business, or related field
  • Advanced degree, certificate, or designation in adult learning
  • Ability to develop/execute learning solutions in a large complex corporation gained through seven or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience using various software applications e.g. Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Vidyard, Vyond etc.
  • Experience developing a global learning strategy and delivering learning to various audiences
  • Expertise in developing learning content for multiple learning styles and delivery approaches
  • Proven experience in learning experience, measurement, metrics, and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead multiple projects at once, work effectively with internal and external stakeholders across the business
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills. Must demonstrate confidence and proficiency with public speaking
  • Proven ability to coach others, and work collaboratively and iteratively within a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent program management/time management and prioritization skills to deliver on multiple priorities
  • Strong negotiation, managerial, and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, with strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the banking industry or compliance is an asset and would be preferred
  • Knowledge and experience as a learning instructor/facilitator in an academic and or corporate learning setting is essential
  • Proficiency and fluency in Spanish is an asset
