The Senior Manager, Loss Mitigation Strategy, Reporting & Analytics supports the overall success of Retail Risk Collections Strategy within Global Risk Management in Canada. The role is responsible for developing data-driven LMT strategies, enhancing reporting and analytical capabilities, and delivering portfolio insights that strengthen risk oversight, improve collections performance, and support appropriate customer treatment outcomes. The incumbent ensures that goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in alignment with business priorities, regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and established risk appetite expectations.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Drive LMT strategy and portfolio performance
- Develop and refine LMT strategies across Retail and Small Business portfolios to improve customer outcomes, reduce losses, and support sustainable collections performance.
- Design, monitor, and optimize treatment logic using predictive insights, segmentation, portfolio trends, and approved governance thresholds, including Risk Appetite limits, Early Warning Thresholds, policy exceptions, and disaster relief programs.
- Evaluate LMT effectiveness, customer treatment outcomes, roll-rate performance, delinquency migration, loss mitigation benefits, and post-treatment results using historical cohorts and forward-looking indicators.
- Identify emerging risks, portfolio trends, and threshold breaches, and provide executive-ready insights, root-cause assessments, and remediation recommendations for key governance forums.
- Modernize analytics, reporting and decision support
- Develop automated, self-service Power BI reporting solutions that improve transparency, enable drill-down analysis, reduce manual effort, and support timely decision-making across Collections Strategy, Operations, Risk, and senior leadership.
- Leverage SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI, and related analytical tools to automate recurring processes, strengthen data controls, enhance segmentation, and translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Conduct targeted deep-dive analyses to explain performance drivers, identify improvement opportunities, and inform senior management decisions.
- Strengthen governance, controls and delivery
- Partner with Collections Operations, Risk, Product, Technology, Fraud, and other stakeholders to implement LMT strategies, integrate relevant alerts and controls, and align delivery with business and governance expectations.
- Support platform, data, and process changes, including TSYS migration, Project ALMA, CAMS, and post-migration reporting enhancements, through validation, testing, documentation, and issue resolution.
- Apply the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities, decisions, and recommendations.
- Promote effective and efficient operations in line with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while maintaining strong operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk controls.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience and a master’s degree, preferably in advanced analytics, economics, finance, business, mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong experience in credit risk, collections strategy, loss mitigation, retail banking analytics, or portfolio management, with the ability to translate analytical insights into business decisions.
- Advanced capability with analytical tools and data platforms, including SAS, SQL, Python, and Power BI, with experience developing automated reporting solutions, dashboards, validation routines, and performance monitoring frameworks.
- Strong background in data-driven strategy development, including segmentation, strategy testing, performance measurement, risk appetite monitoring, root-cause analysis, and portfolio diagnostics.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify reporting processes, improve control effectiveness, and design scalable solutions that enhance accuracy, timeliness, transparency, and governance.
- Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex analytical findings clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
- Knowledge of credit scoring, behavior scoring, risk assessment, collections treatments, forbearance reporting, and regulatory expectations are preferred.
