Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Insurance business in Canada by defining superior value propositions/products for customers; drives innovative strategies for improved customer acquisition, engagement, and lifetime value and profitability.
What you will be doing:
- Contribute to the creation, execution, and monitoring of the annual product and portfolio P&L metrics against plan.
- Own the product end to end across the full product lifecycle, ensuring strong market fit (Set product vision, strategy, roadmap, and success metrics)
- Define, track, and remediate product performance metrics (e.g., growth, retention, sales trends, loss ratios, claims, cancellations, profitability etc.).
- Develop and implement initiatives to reduce attrition, while owning accountability for retention metrics; continuously monitor performance, analyze trends, and plan proactive strategies in collaboration with other partners to mitigate attrition.
- Lead and drive a customer-focused culture to deepen relationships and leverage broader Bank systems and knowledge.
- Define and execute the product roadmap, including new features, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure robust, scalable, and efficient systems support product delivery and performance.
- Collaboratively set overall strategy and planning for integrated, multi-channel, multi-product insurance offerings to profitably grow the business.
- Conduct market, target customer, and competitive research.
- Support and collaborate on growth with distribution on targeted marketing strategies, cross-sell opportunities, and go-to-market plans for new and existing products.
- Monitor program and market activities to proactively identify and implement product enhancements.
- Collaborate with all functional areas such as distribution, analytics, contact centers, digital to achieve the product portfolio objectives. Shared accountability for sales and performance outcomes.
- Identify and co-manage partnerships that enhance product value and market reach.
- Own product performance post-launch, maintaining full visibility into key metrics to manage the business and communicate insights effectively.
- Establish feasibility, develop strategic proposals, and build business cases for new product initiatives.
- Utilize data, analytics, and market research to refine customer segmentation, product positioning, and pricing strategies for profitable growth.
- Support Marketing, Analytics, and Growth Strategy teams in leveraging omni-channel campaigns, predictive modeling, and segmentation to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer engagement.
- Partner with actuarial and underwriting teams on product design, pricing, risk assumptions, and profitability.
- Have a thorough understanding of underwriting rules, eligibility criteria, and claims rules, including ongoing implications and adjustments, and driving proposed recommendations with partners.

- Thorough understanding of insurance and financial planning concepts
- High credibility with senior management team, channel line management as well as business lines and other functional areas across the Canadian Bank
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, with limited support.
- Excellent planning and strategic thinking skills, with solid understanding of P/L levers and competitive landscape
