Purpose


The Senior Manager, IWM Wealth Insurance is responsible for driving the strategy, execution, and oversight of Wealth Insurance solutions across the International Wealth Management (IWM) footprint for High‑Net‑Worth (HNW) clients in Latin America and the Caribbean. This role leads the implementation of the Wealth Insurance product suite, assessing local market conditions and collaborating with country wealth teams to determine the optimal offering for each jurisdiction. This position also develops and deploys appropriate distribution channels, including assessing local and global opportunities to deliver optimal client-centric solutions. The Senior Manager oversees the end‑to‑end delivery of the Wealth Insurance offering, including securing internal approvals, assessing internal and external partners, and establishing ongoing monitoring and governance structures. Success requires strong strategic thinking, cross‑functional leadership, and disciplined execution within accelerated timelines.


The Senior Manager, IWM Wealth Insurance ensures that Wealth Insurance offerings are competitive, compliant, well‑governed, and integrated into the broader IWM value proposition. The role will work with key stakeholders across countries and businesses, manage key external and internal relationships, and drive sustainable business growth aligned with enterprise strategy.


The Senior Manager, IWM Wealth Insurance is accountable for achieving individual goals that support the IWM team’s business objectives. All activities are conducted in strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures across the IWM footprint.


Responsibilities


1. Deliver the development and implementation of the IWM Wealth Insurance Mandate


• Lead the design of a comprehensive Wealth Insurance strategy tailored to the needs of international HighNet-Worth (HNW) clients, including estate planning, succession and legacy goals.
• Define the value proposition and positioning of Wealth Insurance within the broader IWM wealth offering.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices in wealth protection solutions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align the deliverables with IWM’s overall business objectives and client experience standards.


2. Define and Implement Distribution Models


• Design client-centric distribution model that caters to the needs of HNW clients across the IWM footprint, optimizing the local and global considerations.
• Identify and define roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders involved in the delivery of insurance solutions.
• Ensure alignment with existing advisory and planning processes to enable seamless integration of Wealth Insurance into the client journey.
• Coordinate and support the development of training and enablement materials to ensure effective adoption by front-line teams.


3. Lead the Vendor / Partner Engagement and Relationship Management


• Coordinate the end-to-end approval process for launching new Wealth Insurance initiatives, including documentation, stakeholder engagement, and governance for IWM countries.
• Evaluate, assess and onboard potential external vendors and partners, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, compliance standards, third-party risk management, and operational capabilities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of contracts, renewals, and governance processes in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.
• Facilitate communication, training and support between internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth execution of initiatives.
• Oversee third party vendor reporting of referrals, commissions and service level agreements, and ensure it meets the agreed upon compliance and regulatory requirements.


4. Set Up the Ongoing Monitoring and Oversight Process


• In collaboration with other key stakeholders, establish a robust monitoring framework to monitor referrals, track progress, support the timely closure of referrals, assess client outcomes, and operational effectiveness of the Wealth Insurance offering, including connecting closed referrals and commissions with incentive programs.
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement, including adoption, revenue and client satisfaction.
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards for senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Be the primary contact and SME for the onshore and offshore teams, identify opportunities for improvements, and provide timely and effective resolutions to issues raised.


5. Contribute to the effective functioning of the IWM team by:

Education & Other Experience:


Experience, Education, and Certifications


• University degree in business, finance, risk management or related field, with progressive experience in financial services and insurance.
• Strong understanding of insurance businesses, including products, operations, systems and distribution practices.
• MBA or advanced programs/postgraduate specialization in financial services considered an asset.
• 6+ years’ experience in the insurance industry and/or financial services industry with exposure to Latin American markets.
• International certification/accreditation (i.e. LLQP, CFP, CFA) will be considered an asset.


Key Technical Skills


• Good understanding of insurance and wealth management processes, including compliance and governance frameworks.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills to interpret market data, client data, and operational metrics.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel, Power Point).
• Working knowledge of Scotia Wealth Management’s value proposition, products, and services for high-networth clients is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of data visualization, automation and CRM tools including Salesforce, Power BI, etc.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written) required.

• Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
