Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Global Transaction Banking globally, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

The Senior Manager, Global Wire Payments is responsible for the end-to-end capabilities and roadmap related to Swift payment services. The role drives strategy, product capability design and delivery governance for global wires, ensuring wire services are resilient, data-rich and client-centric.  Acting as the centralized point of contact for Swift payment services across the bank, the Senior Manager will collaborate closely with product teams across the enterprise, while maintaining alignment on various Swift wires projects in support of Global Transaction Banking’s strategies and objectives.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Lead the overall Swift payment services relationship and roadmap:
    • Own the global Swift product backlog, managing and prioritizing initiatives across internal teams, driving Scotiabank’s global Swift enhancement plan.
    • Create and maintain a global inventory of Swift payment services by country across Scotiabank’s footprint. 
    • Develop a governance framework to coordinate representation and keep stakeholders informed on developments to the Swift roadmap, regulatory updates and industry plans that span multiple business lines and jurisdictions.
    • Ensure local alignment to the enterprise Swift payments roadmap, globalizing services and capabilities where applicable.
  • Actively engage, participate and shape industry and internal strategies/execution associated with evolving Swift payments capabilities:
    • Engage with industry stakeholders to collaborate on shaping industry direction.
    • Monitor and evaluate industry trends, regulatory mandates and opportunities to inform Scotiabank’s global wires strategy.
    • Consult across the organization to establish internal positions on Swift related topics.
  • Drive change management efforts for global Swift capabilities:
    • Define and communicate the strategic roadmap for Swift products and services, aligned to business objectives, and adhering to regulatory mandates and industry standards.
    • Conduct needs analysis, identifying areas for improvement and assessing cost efficiency and risk.
    • Serve as a facilitator and relationship-builder by overseeing/coordinating partner socialization around major themes of change related to Swift initiatives.
    • Oversee day-to-day management of Swift payment services, including any communications, metrics reporting, knowledge share and product training activities.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven track record managing multiple cross-functional business, partner, and customer relationships
  • Self-starter possessing confidence and initiative with the ability to cope with changing and evolving priorities while identifying new opportunities
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and relationship management skills
  • Working knowledge of wires platforms, Swift products and infrastructure, global payment operations and ISO 20022 impacts
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • University Degree in business, economics, or technology (MBA an asset)
