Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Global Wealth Competitive Analysis, will be a key member of the Global Wealth Management team reporting to the Director of International Wealth Management. The incumbent will contribute to the overall success of the Global Wealth Finance, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Responsibilities will include the coverage of the Global Wealth Management industry and forecasting and planning of the International Wealth business. The role will include competitive analysis through following research reports on the Wealth Management industry and the Global markets. The role will involve creating and implementing new financial models to project financial results and support financial analysis (such as Capital, Efficiency, and Productivity).
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
1) Provide executives with coverage of the Global Wealth Management banking industry, monitor trends of competing banks, conduct review and analysis of equity research reports and help to provide recommendations that will enhance the Global Wealth Management’s Bank’s financial results
2) Drives the Quarterly Forecasts and Annual Plan for the International Wealth Management business partners, including:
- Coordinating the high level and detailed Forecasting and Business Plan processes
- Reviewing the Business growth assumptions and assessing for reasonability when comparing with economic forecasting, available resources and IB assumptions
- Coordinating the projections with the Business Line heads and ensuring alignment among internal partners & targets
- Preparing executive summaries for Finance and Business Line executives
3) Manage the reporting of country and business lines results (actuals)
- Provide insightful analysis related to the health and mix of the International Wealth Management P&L and Balance sheet
- Manage information databases ensuring the completeness, accuracy, timeliness and integrity of the financial results
- Manage, develop and enhance current monthly/quarterly reporting strategy, performance dashboards and scorecards including value-added performance commentary and variance analysis
- Hold monthly review meetings with business and countries
- Review internal allocations on an ongoing basis for appropriateness
- Draft concise financial commentary for management consumption
4) Act as Business Partner to support the Bank/ business strategy
- Support strategic priorities and/or improve management processes and standardize methodologies. Implement and maintain constantly evolving performance measurement practices, and reporting (eg. International Wealth Pricing strategy)
- Support the Integration of divestitures and newly acquired entities in existing reporting, forecasting and plan processes
- Identify and capture material opportunities based on performance analysis of the business lines
- Continue to act as trusted business partner
5) Financial aptitude to conduct business and strategic reviews
- Good understanding of present values, risk measurement, and development of cash flow projections with exceptional financial analysis and modelling skills
- Ability to grasp complex concepts and communicate them in a concise and clear manner
- Strong initiative, forward thinking and creative problem solving skills with the ability to create or simulate integrated cross-disciplinary strategic solutions
- Demonstrates intuition and intellectually sound judgment in making decisions related to assigned duties
- Contribute to the preparation and presentation of investment recommendations for the Global Wealth Management Division
6) Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge

- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- CFA or MBA and/or Accounting Designation preferred
- 8 year’s work experience in financial industry, experience in FP&A, Strategy, Analytics and or Wealth Business lines
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills, especially with senior level management
- Material knowledge of the Wealth Management and Financial Institutions industry and their products/businesses
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office products
- Experience with VBA, SQL, SAS, Tableau and or Power BI an asset
- Built complex dynamic financial models to analyze investment opportunities and project future earnings
- Experience with Oracle Essbase, Hyperion Planning & Forecasting and PeopleSoft
- Fluency in Spanish an asset
