The Role
 

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Registrations team in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
 

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Provide support to the Director, Global Registrations to ensure appropriate, sustainable, and adapted processes to meet ongoing compliance & regulatory requirements and expectations
  • Facilitate the development of straight through process and automation to help enhance the Registrations capabilities 
  • Develop and maintain different reporting including Power BI for key stakeholders. Provide risk and data insights
  • Review, analyze and recommend changes to the deployment of processes and procedures to increase service value to the registrants and the organization. 
  • Liaise and collaborate with key stakeholders and external regulatory bodies to ensure excellent levels of service
  • Collect, analyze, and report on registration data against department KPI. Utilize data analysis to enhance department capabilities.
  • Facilitate the development and release of education/communication strategy regarding new/revised policies and processes.
  • Works with the Canadian registered affiliates to implement regulatory change, and to enhance controls for existing regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains deep knowledge & understanding of regulatory requirements and associated changes.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls within Global Compliance to meet applicable obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) risk and conduct risk.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
     

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, preferably within a regulatory compliance, audit or risk management function;
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, results orientation and data driven approach in decision making;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing;
  • Specific regulatory or compliance knowledge
