This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the new Global Finance Internal Controls 1B function and to help set the strategic direction for departmental risk management and program governance.

 
As the Senior Manager, Global Finance Risk Governance & Methodology, you will be instrumental in the development, deployment, operationalization, and management of risk governance methodologies, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines pertaining to Global Finance operations.  This includes effective communication and training, as well as ongoing program performance monitoring and reporting activities.    


You will have interactions with a broad range of Finance professionals and stakeholders.  And you will be expected to influence and educate them on risk governance and internal control best practices as governed by the Global Finance Risk Management Framework.    

 

Key Accountabilities:


Risk Governance Strategy & Methodology:  
 

  • Support the development, deployment, and management of the new Risk Governance Strategy and Global Risk Management Framework for Global Finance, including the development and operationalization of enterprise level core risk management processes and methodologies.
  • Engage stakeholders to actively contribute to the development and operationalization of new risk methodologies; solicit and incorporate stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement of related methodologies. 
  • Develop and deliver risk management training to stakeholders, as needed 
  • Monitor for regulatory, operational, and technological change, and assess impact on Global Finance risk governance program and processes. 
  • Engage in strategic initiatives or special deep-dive projects, as required. 
  • Contribute to the overall success of Global Finance by ensuring that specific risk governance goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of departmental and organizational strategies and objectives. 


Policy Development & Document Management

 

  • Develop, deploy, and manage global governance and risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks for the new Global Finance Internal Controls (1B) function
  • Assess the impact of new or modified Bank-wide policies on Global Finance operations; amend departmental-level policies and procedures as needed, highlighting relevancy to Global Finance while ensuring integration and alignment with the broader organization.
  • Provide advice and counsel to Global Finance stakeholders on the development of local policies, procedures, and standards, as needed.  
  • Performs oversight activities to ensure alignment and consistency of governance documentation across the enterprise
  • Develop and maintain a central repository of Global Finance policies and procedures; and perform adequate oversight to ensure timely and appropriate updates are made and communicated to relevant stakeholders
  • Arrange to obtain approval of key policies by appointed management risk committees and by the Risk Committee of the Bank’s Board of Directors, as needed. 

 

Risk Program Management & Reporting

 

  • Aggregate risk data from various sources, perform root cause analysis, identify common themes, and highlight significant risks or issues for management consideration. 
  • Create insightful non-financial risk management reporting for senior management and risk committee presentation and review.
  • Provide support during internal and external engagements (e.g.: internal audits, regulatory exams, third-party consulting reviews, etc.)
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for assessing progress against Global Finance Risk Governance program objectives and outcomes; perform regular monitoring and reporting of program performance. 
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to enhance risk methodologies by analyzing and applying quality assurance, internal audit, regulatory, and third-party review results and recommendations.

  • Keep abreast of risk management regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Understand and incorporate the Bank’s risk appetite and risk-culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Education / Experience: 

 

  • Undergraduate university degree or higher
  • Minimum 8 years experience in one or more of the following areas: Risk Management, Program Governance, Compliance, Internal Controls, Policy Development, and/or Training & Learning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to prepare reporting, communications, and to interact effectively with various stakeholders and management levels
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple and concurrent deliverables effectively and efficiently without compromising quality
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and qualitative research, analysis, and reporting 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated independent initiative and highly motivated team player. 
  • Program and/or project management experience considered an asset
