The Senior Manager assists the Director with activities related to the implementation, management, communication, ongoing oversight and challenge for adherence to the Enterprise Risk governance documents. The Senior Manager ensures that all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, industry best practices, internal policies and procedures
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Ensure consistency with governing regulations, internal requirements and industry best practices when developing, implementing, oversight and challenge of Enterprise Risk governance documents for Key Risk Indicators, Key Performance Indicators, and Key Control Indicators across the organization.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders including business line and control and corporate function representatives (e.g. compliance, legal, audit, etc.) to maintain effective internal communication through the ongoing sharing and acquiring of information.
- Provide training and support to staff on risk management practices and standards.
- Develop responses and plans to remediate issues raised by Internal Audit and/or regulatory examinations and supports the annual review of regulatory and Bank-driven initiatives (e.g. SOX, CRCA, GRM Self-Assessment, etc).
- Maintain ongoing awareness of industry best practices and regulatory requirements with respect to metrics and communicate findings with recommendations to management. Assist in the department’s role of change agent, implementing enhancements to ensure the Bank meets and/or exceeds best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- An undergraduate degree required
- Professional accounting designation (CPA), CFA, or MBA would be an asset
- Strong understanding of risk frameworks, risk management, the Bank’s operations and financial sector risks
- Superior communication skills with ability to write clearly and concisely
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Results oriented and driven individual
- Expert interpersonal and relationship building skills to influence and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders across the Bank.
- Ability to work on complex projects independently, within tight deadlines, and adapt to changing deadlines and requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills are required to manage multiple and concurrent projects under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in Spanish would be an asset.
