The Senior Manager of Enterprise Payments Risk, Business Partner Strategy & Relations provides strategic support to 1st Line business partners globally; ensuring 1st Line business strategies, plans and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing payment related regulations, and internal EPR frameworks, standards, policies, and procedures. This role provides 2nd line review and challenge where the Business introduces or changes payment products, payment activities in high-risk jurisdictions, high risk clients seeking to utilize the bank’s payment products.


What you'll be doing in this role:


  • Supports the Director in executing independent oversight of across all lines of business (Canadian Banking, Global Wealth Management, GBM, and International Banking) in all jurisdictions
  • Provides leadership support to the Director by conducting thorough analysis and drafting recommendations or position papers on strategic and operational issues impacting Enterprise Payments Risk through the activities of the 1st Line.
  • Develop and sustain key strategic relationships to effectively meet EPR and FCRM needs by working collaboratively with peers and others, participating in meetings that will ensure impacts to EPR and FCRM strategic initiatives and project(s) are known and managed.  Effectively liaise with  business partners to ensure the timely execution and completion of the initiatives or specific deliverables; and provide advice and counsel to partners and stakeholders on payment products, processes, risks, controls, and emerging considerations.
  • Provide awareness, advice, and counsel to Business Partners on EPR and FCRM changing and emerging standards, directives, regulations, and best practices.
  • Provide effective review and challenge, monitor, and advise on: 
    • Definition and communication of a sound payment risk management strategy
    • Risk appetite and limits
    • Design of effective risk governance structures and risk organizations
    • Risk identification and assessment
    • Risk mitigation and control design
    • Incidents and loss management
    • Risk monitoring and action tracking.
  • Collaborate with Lines of Business and stakeholders in the integration, augmentation or creation of playbooks that outline end to end payment critical systems and processes, data and information, governance, communications, escalation protocols for an adverse event recognizing interconnectedness and interdependencies with up and down stream implications across the payment lifecycle – complementing DRP, BCP, & IRP playbooks, programs and tabletop exercises.
  •  Provides guidance and support related to the payment lifecycle audit and regulatory examinations and address of findings within respective Lines of Business, as appropriate.



We'd love to work with you if you have:

•    Strong understanding of payment products, systems, and FRCM requirements and processes
•    Strong familiarity and experience with bank regulatory compliance programs and/or enterprise/operational risk programs
•    Prior exposure to a control environment in risk management, compliance, or audit
•    Working knowledge of business environment supported by a strong understanding of policy and regulations
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
•    Strong analytical and process design skills
•    People management experience and leadership skills
•    Fluency in Spanish is strongly desired
•    3-5 years of related payments product, operation or general Payment Compliance or Operational Risk experience
