The Senior Manager, Employee Listening Behavioural Science, is accountable for the identification and integration of behavioural data with sentiment data to continuously measure the culture of Scotiabank. Reporting to the Director, Talent Innovation & Insights, this role utilizes behavioural science techniques and employee listening best practices to develop and deploy a listening program that leads to actionable leader and All-Bank insights that drive our culture. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Own the end to end design, delivery, and continuous improvement of employee listening insight products - defining user needs, testing usability, tracking adoption and effectiveness, and iterating dashboards and reports to maximize clarity, actionability, and sustained behaviour change.
  • Build enterprise capability to act on employee listening insights by designing and delivering enablement for leaders, HR partners, and stakeholders.
  • Develop guidance, tools, and learning materials that translate insights into clear actions, embed accountability into leadership routines, and support consistent, high quality action planning across the organization.
  • Apply behavioural science methodologies to the design, testing, and evaluation of employee listening measures and interventions.
  • Develop hypotheses about behavioural drivers of culture outcomes, leads pilots and test and learn experiments, evaluates impact, and refines measures and approaches based on evidence.
  • Ensure behavioural insights move beyond measurement to inform practical, scalable interventions that drive meaningful change and leader accountability.
  • Develop rationale for benchmarks for chosen indicators, works with risk SMEs to identify risk thresholds related to appropriate employee listening KPIs.
  • Lead the application of advanced analytics and AI enabled techniques to synthesize behavioural, sentiment, and operational employee data into actionable insights.
  • Design and oversee the evolution from descriptive reporting to more advanced analytical approaches (e.g., pattern detection, triangulation of behavioural and sentiment signals, early warning indicators), ensuring insights support proactive culture management, leader decision making, and enterprise risk oversight.
  • Partner with technology and analytics teams to responsibly leverage AI capabilities in line with data privacy, ethical use, and regulatory expectations.
  • Operate as a senior individual contributor with enterprise wide accountability for the quality, integrity, and impact of employee listening insights, influencing outcomes across business lines, geographies, and leadership levels without direct people management, including role  and persona based dashboards for senior leaders, people managers, HR partners, and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Act as a key contributor to the Bank’s broader Talent Intelligence ecosystem by integrating behavioural and culture signals into enterprise talent insights.
  • Partner with Talent Intelligence, Leadership, and Workforce Strategy teams to ensure employee listening insights inform skills based talent decisions, leadership capability development, workforce planning, and culture related risk identification.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have: 

  • Deep industry knowledge in banking and financial services, an asset.
  • Experience with a variety of HR systems. 
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others across business units, functional departments, geographies and disciplines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong background in behavioural science, organisational psychology, or a related field, with hands-on experience designing and evaluating behavioural measures
  • Ability to identify and work with a wide range of data sources, specifically employee surveys, behaviour data, HR people data, familiarity with analytics (statistical analysis) and reporting tools.
  • Expertise in Employee Listening/Voice of the Employee (e.g., employee surveys).
  • 5-8 years in HR or related field.
  • Bilingual Language skills English/Spanish both written and spoken is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong business communication, presentation and writing skills.
