Purpose
As our Senior Manager, Digital Payments, Global Transaction Banking (GTB) you will lead digital payment transactions for commercial and corportate business, and analyses and develop business payment experiences to elevate our payment products.  Your role will be the intersection of technology, business and customer experience. That will transform businesses for domestic and multi-national business clients. 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • With collaborative direction from the wider Product/ Channels Teams, you will be responsible for delivering capabilities and features for the ScotiaConnect desktop and mobile applications
  • You will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from early opportunity analysis, research and customer validation, scope, engineering, testing, and release
  • You will manage a lab (scrum) team to develop solutions to strengthen payment product capabilities, while delivering with high quality and value
  • Lead problem discovery to understand customer needs, current challenges and work closely with design and engineering partners to come up with solutions
  • Assist in the development of vision and roadmap with our product and technology teams that prepare digital channels for future features and enterprise payment products  
  • Create/maintain a detailed prioritized product backlog for ScotiaConnect and payment features
  • Define clear outcomes and goals for each initiative with associated KPIs/Metrics to ensure success and alignment with the overall vision and strategy; define the “What” and the “Why” as part of problem discovery.
  • Participating in technology grooming and sizing discussions (story mapping, story sketching, story review sessions etc.) to ensure a common understanding.
  • Build reusable and scalable customer facing software.
  • Partner with product marketing teams to define effective go-to-market plans for product launches.
  • Evangelize the product - share success stories, new product launches through effective release notes, demos.
  • Use data to drive decisions. Build hypothesis, test & iterate to formulate an agile product development approach.
  • Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
  • Understands and keeps up to date with emerging technologies, trends and innovative solutions especially in the digital payment space.
  • Work closely with the analytics team to track metrics and create performance reports
  • Be the first point of contact to identify, manage and resolve requirement questions, dependencies, issues and risks 
  • Collaborate with a team of cross-functional partners to ensure a strong risk and controls environment (e.g., Risk, Controls, Legal, Compliance)


What You'll Bring:

  • You have 3-5+ years of experience in a role building customer facing digital products.
  • Several experience in digital payments industry either for consumers, businesses or public authorities 
  • You have managed a technology product or a digital journey end to end, from inception to delivery.
  • You have experience in web, mobile, or microservice development with a strong focus on digital payments
  • Passion for understanding customer needs and demonstrated ability to build digital payment products
  • Ability to think strategically while still being comfortable diving into the details required to ensure successful execution
  • You have excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • You have a curious and experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty.
  • You have strong facilitation skills with proven accomplishments leading cross-functional teams.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels in the organizations.
  • Experience in online payments including digital wallets and money movement
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, engineering practices, and the product development lifecycle using Agile methodologies
  • Willingness to travel based on business need will be required between our Toronto and Scarborough office.
