The Senior Manager, Data Lead implements data governance and data management in the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities domain in accordance with the data policy and standards, and in alignment with business priorities. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 

 

  • Collaborating with business and technology partners to implement data governance and data management for GBM FICC domain.
  • Supporting and ensuring Domain’s efforts to adhere to Data Management Policies.
  • Acting as a Data Subject Matter Expert for the domain, directly contributing to the development of data products.
  • Supporting the Data Modelers to extend the Common Data Model.
  • Providing advisory and consulting services to initiatives that require GBM data.
  • Build a knowledge base of GBM data business context, data processes and data flows.
  • Champions Data Office products and services, to increase adoption, bring value to the business, and gather feedback to improve the products and services.
  • Leads the establishment of data governance structures and works closely with Data Stewards, Custodians and other key roles to champion the adoption of a data culture
  • Performs Review and Challenge Function for data initiatives and data domains implementation of data management activities to ensure compliance with Policy and Standards.
  • Keeps abreast with changes in data products, business processes, and technology processes related to the domain.  Contribute to keeping the definitions and metadata up to date.
  • Contributes to the creation of KPI/KRIs in the assigned business area, in relation to data governance and management effectiveness.
     

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

    

  • Extensive experience with FICC products and business processes.
  • Experience in valuations and market data is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education:  University degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7-8 years of work experience, preferably in a bank / financial institution
  • This role requires a Mastery/Subject Matter Expertise of data governance leading practices including Data Management policy and standards
  • Project management skills in order to handle diverse projects, often simultaneously, and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex problems through a collaborative style
  • Ability to increase operating efficiency and produce high quality technical solutions
  • A high level of interpersonal and presentation skills at all levels including the Executive Management Level.
