High-quality data is critical to Global Wealth Management & Insurance’s strategic objectives. As a Senior Manager, Data Initiatives, you are a senior member of a business-focused data management team providing technical leadership in the design and implementation of key data quality and governance measures and controls. You will work closely with business and technology partners across Global Wealth Management on new data and reporting initiatives, the delivery of data quality enhancements and lead other members of the Data Initiatives team. This role also involves oversight of Data Initiatives team members, creating working relationships with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand data requirements, analyze data, and implement solutions.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex data quality controls and monitoring solutions for data sets within Global Wealth Management & Insurance, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
- Lead the team with an AI-first mindset: Collect and store data to enable AI readiness, & leverage AI to enhance data, including writing code, and leveraging data to enhance AI
- Provide expert-level support and guidance for relevant data projects and data enquiries, ensuring support requests are managed effectively and accurately
- Lead the problem-solving efforts related to data-related issues and communicate to stakeholders
- Work with architecture and development teams from Global Wealth Management & Insurance transformation initiatives to resolve complex production and data issues & oversee the escalation and prioritization of issues
- Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and other team members to understand data requirements and implement data solutions
- Participate in cross-functional projects as a data expert, providing training and support to business users on data access, reporting, and data quality tools
- Develop and maintain comprehensive data quality metrics, providing insights into data accuracy, consistency, and completeness
- Profile data, perform data quality checks, and identify data integrity issues
- Develop and implement data quality rules and monitoring processes & maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, data flows, data definitions, and data quality rules
- Lead the development and maintenance of scheduled reports, ensuring timely and accurate delivery & use data visualization tools to present findings effectively
- Work with Data Governance partners and business data owners to define and draft sophisticated business rules and data quality controls, aligning with best practice standards and driving data governance initiatives
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics or equivalent with a focus in Data Analytics and AI
- CFA enrollment is an asset
- Other certifications in programming languages such as Python, SQL or other equivalent.
- 5 + years of Investment Management Operations, Asset Management or Wealth Management & Insurance industry experience, preferably in a leadership role
- 5 + years of experience with data management tools and various query and processing languages (SQL, Python, ETL)
- 2+ years’ experience with data analytics, visualization tools, and Artificial Intelligence tools (Power BI, Copilot, etc.)
- 2+ years’ experience with public cloud environments and developing data quality programs within their applications (GCP, Databricks, Azure, etc.)
- 2+ years’ experience with implementing a data catalog, quality and profiling
