Title:  Senior Manager, DFI Insider Threat - Enhanced Monitoring, Governance and Initiatives

Contributes to the overall success of the Insider Threat operational program globally, specifically Enhance Monitoring Governance and support, as well as Internal Threat mitigation initiatives, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, programs are executed and delivered in support of the program’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Provide governance and oversight of the Enhanced Monitoring Program to support program effectiveness as well as drive effective program document with key stakeholders and delivery of executive/management reporting. Work closely with Enterprise Corporate security teams to drive efficiencies in the operational process as well as investigative insights from escalated events.
  • Tracks and manages the solution of operational and technical issues that affect the regular workflow of the Enhanced Monitoring program. Acts as a liaison among monitoring teams, Corporate Security, and incumbent technology teams to ensure the Enhanced Monitoring program achieves its intended goals.
  • Leads the development and advancement of Insider Threat operational Initiatives that would strengthen the organization’s capabilities in early detection and mitigation strategies. They will include program management and/or triage of data driven insights derived from the Insider Threat data Hub.
  • Conducts ad hoc data analysis for Corporate Security to support investigations or other initiatives which leverage the Enhanced Monitoring program or Insider Threat Data hub repository.
  • Produces relevant metrics for executive forums, effectively communicates challenges and decision points.
  • Transforms new Insider Threat business monitoring needs into technical requirements for development and necessary technology changes to support existing requirements. Working with DFI Data Analytics & Solutions, Global Technology Operations, Fraud Management, and Business Risk Management teams across the organization.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Post-secondary degree(s) and/or university/college courses in criminology, Risk Management, Information Security, business, and/or law or equivalent career experience.
  • Insider Threat related experience is desirable
  • CFE, CAMS, CISSP, Insider Threat Program Manager and/or similar financial crime/Information Security training and/or designation – An asset
  • Highly accomplished and current analytical skillset (in at least one of the following: crime, tactical, operational,) including researching, collecting, evaluating, and analyzing information to provide recommendations to senior management and support to investigations – required
  • Thorough knowledge of Scotiabank’s business, supporting systems and processes – Required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in dealing with Insider Threat trends, mitigation methodologies, legislation/regulation in Canada (required) and other key markets (preferred)
  • Experience in leading projects/programs which involved cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience and knowledge in managing a risk program or framework
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services industry and regulatory environment
  • Strong knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance and Controls frameworks
  • Extensive experience in preparing and presenting briefing material for senior management to advise on Insider Threat and/or other operational risks and/or control frameworks.
  • Experience conducting risk and control assessments and making change recommendations.
  • Possesses highest ethical standards and experience working with sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
