The Senior Manager, Customer Risk Analytics will contribute to the risk management by providing analytics and governance on credit bureau data and bureau reporting for the Canadian Business portfolios. They will lead the design, development, and implementation of a new bureau data repository for bank wide consumption, and developing an enhanced governance framework on credit bureau reporting activities
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Assess the end-to-end credit bureau reporting and data consumption process and provide Senior Management with sound recommendations for changes to enhance data accuracy, governance, and robust data structure for end user consumption of bureau data. This includes assessment and inclusion of new bureau data/product.
- Provide sounds data analytics to validate credit bureau reporting against internal reporting/insights data for all Canada retail and Small Business portfolios.
- Lead the design and implementation of a new credit bureau data repository by:
- Designing governance procedures to ensure data is received on time from the vendors and loaded to the new data repository accurately.
- Designing and implementing an end user friendly data structure to promote the use of the new centralized bureau data repository.
- Collaborating with CIDA and the Data Governance teams to ensure the new centralized bureau data repository meeting enterprise-wide data governance and data privacy requirements
- Researching, assessing, and providing recommendation on new bureau data/tools, where appropriate
- Provide advice and counsel to business partners/local risk teams on credit bureau data initiatives, and best practices on consuming data from the new centralized bureau data repository.
- The Senior Manager role requires excellent knowledge of credit bureau data and process. Familiar with credit risk strategies and adaptive control application experience for strategy implementation, experience with databases, query structures and data extraction.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- In-depth understanding of i) The credit bureau reporting standard (Metro 2 guideline); ii) Internal data repository (EDL/EDW/GDAP); iii) Internal reporting standard; and iv) Knowledge of mainframe data structure.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to design and interpret information/data required to validate and monitor the credit bureau reporting files for all portfolios.
- Must be able to articulate their viewpoint/opinions to all levels within Scotiabank, as well as to senior executives. The incumbent must be able to represent Scotiabank on risk management issues in a multitude of external venues (e.g., government regulators, banking committees, external auditors, industry associations, credit bureaus and credit risk forums/roundtables, etc.).
- Knowledge of credit risk management origination and life cycle process and risk systems in Retail and Small Business.
- Demonstrated experience with databases, query structures and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with adaptive control applications and knowledge of credit processing systems for credit strategy implementation.
- Strong deductive reasoning, sound judgement and creativity.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written - presents and articulates views clearly.
- Strong skills in strategic influencing and working collaboratively with cross functional business partners in Canada, as well as with external vendors.
