What you'll be doing.

 

Leads and oversees the delivery and execution of annual compensation planning programs globally ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • •    Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Responsible for the development and configuration of me@scotiabank Compensation Planner.
    • Ensure that the Compensation Planner meets the current and future business and technical needs of the annual incentive plans (i.e.. N/E AIP - Global, BIP – Canada & CBIP – Canada; Exec. AIP – Global & GBM IP - Global).
    • Partner with TR and GHRT to establish business requirements based on the incentive plan design and feedback from TR and HRBPs
    • Provide creative solutions to resolve issues brought forward by TR
    • Manage EC updates to ensure efficient straight through processing. 
    • Responsible for establishing and implementing the user acceptance testing strategy.
    • Adapts priorities to address resource and operational challenges while balancing short- and medium-term priorities.
  • Responsible for overseeing the delivery of Compensation Planner:  
    • Coach the Compensation Specialists to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the Compensation Planner to our global population of mangers, HRBPs, country HR and Total Rewards.
    • Manage and coach Compensation Solutions Specialists in issue resolution during compensation planning cycles.
    • Provide problem resolution for issues that cannot be managed by the Compensation Solutions Specialists
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. 
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

  • Post-secondary degree and related designation (CHRP, CCP etc…)
  • Minimum 5 years related experience
  • Human Resources systems experience
  • Project management experience
