Senior Manager, Commercial Delivery & Governance contributes to the overall success of Canadian Commercial Banking (CCB) by supporting the planning, governance, execution, and oversight of strategic initiatives, transformation programs, regulatory commitments (non-credit), operational priorities, and client journey improvements, related to workplace operations, core commercial technology and client onboarding. The role ensures initiatives are aligned to CCB strategic objectives, delivered effectively, governed appropriately, and supported by timely reporting and decision-making information.


As Senior Manager, Commercial Delivery & Governance, the incumbent acts as a key delivery partner to the Director, Workplace, Technology & Operations, providing governance leadership, execution discipline, risk oversight, and stakeholder coordination across a portfolio of initiatives. The incumbent works closely with business, operations, technology, risk, compliance, finance, and enterprise partners to support successful delivery of business outcomes while ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge while supporting initiatives designed to improve client and employee experiences across Canadian Commercial Banking.


Portfolio Delivery & Execution

 

  • Support the end-to-end planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring of a portfolio of strategic, operational, regulatory, and transformation initiatives
  • Drive delivery tracking, milestone management, dependency management, and issue resolution across multiple workstreams
  • Coordinate across business, operations, technology, risk, compliance, finance, and enterprise partners to advance delivery outcomes
  • Monitor progress against business objectives and proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate risks, delays, and resource constraints
  • Ensure initiatives maintain clear accountability, agreed deliverables, action plans, and implementation timelines

 

Governance & Executive Reporting

 

  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks, reporting standards, executive dashboards, and performance metrics
  • Coordinate governance forums, steering committees, working groups, and leadership reviews
  • Prepare executive-level reporting packages, presentations, briefing notes, status updates, and decision materials
  • Consolidate information from multiple stakeholders into concise, executive-ready reporting and recommendations
  • Maintain decision logs, action registers, risk logs, issue trackers, and governance documentation

 

Regulatory, Risk & Controls

 

  • Coordinate delivery and reporting of regulatory commitments, remediation activities, and oversight requirements
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, Legal, and Control functions to ensure adherence to enterprise governance standards
  • Monitor operational, regulatory, reputational, and execution risks impacting the initiative portfolio
  • Support development, implementation, and monitoring of remediation plans and control improvement actions where required
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 


Strategic Coordination & Business Management

 

  • Act as a trusted advisor and delivery partner to the Director, supporting strategic planning, prioritization, and resource allocation decisions
  • Conduct analysis and prepare materials supporting strategic planning, business cases, leadership decisions, and executive communications
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, cross-functional meetings, and planning sessions to create alignment and momentum
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery practices, governance effectiveness, operating discipline, and client outcomes

 

Continuous Improvement, Leadership & Culture

 

  • Promote consistent project management, governance, and reporting practices across the initiative portfolio
  • Leverage data and performance insights to identify opportunities for operational efficiency and improved client outcomes
  • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, and execution excellence
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role:

 

  • 3-5 years of experience in support / project management,
  • Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or MSP are highly desirable
  • Sound knowledge in the financial sector, banking regulations and related regulatory requirements
  • Ability to lead multiple projects at the same time, weighing often conflicting priorities, and delivering results
  • Strong communication skills with sound interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to resolve escalated issues effectively to reduce business impact
  • Excellent organization skills and effective coaching skills to foster development of others
