The Role:
- Reporting to the Director, Client & Segment Analytics within Canadian Banking Analytics, the Sr. Manager, Client & Segment Analytics is responsible for generating actionable client insights and delivering analytics-driven recommendations that support the bank's client growth, engagement, primacy, retention, and profitability objectives. The incumbent will lead analysis of client behaviors, segment performance, customer trends, and emerging opportunities across Canadian Banking, translating complex data into strategic recommendations that influence business decisions and client-centric strategies.
- This role plays a key leadership position in the development and execution of Scotiabank's enterprise client segmentation program. Working closely with business, campaign, strategy, marketing, channel, and technology partners, the incumbent will combine strong analytical, business intelligence, project management, communication, and relationship management capabilities to drive alignment, adoption, and business impact across the organization.
- The Sr. Manager, Client & Segment Analytics is a leadership role requiring extensive experience in client analytics, segmentation, business intelligence, data storytelling, and strategic program delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong business and financial acumen, a passion for understanding client needs and behaviors, and a demonstrated ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing teams. The incumbent must be effective in managing cross-functional stakeholders and navigating complex initiatives that span multiple business lines and specialized analytics functions, including Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, Customer Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Personalization, Pricing, Channel Analytics, and Data & Technology teams.
Is this role right for you? - In this role you will:
- Lead client and segment analytics across Canadian Banking, providing strategic insights and recommendations that improve client acquisition, primacy, engagement, retention, profitability, and overall relationship depth. Identify emerging client trends, opportunities, risks, and behavioural insights that support business growth and client-centric decision making.
- Drive the development, execution, and evolution of Scotiabank's client segmentation strategy, partnering with business, product, marketing, channel, and analytics teams to implement segment frameworks, prioritize opportunities, establish governance, and ensure adoption across key business initiatives.
- Lead the delivery of a Canadian Banking-wide client segmentation program, managing the roadmap, stakeholder alignment, project dependencies, governance forums, and implementation activities to ensure successful execution and realization of business value.
Partner with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams to shape strategic initiatives, develop analytical approaches, quantify opportunities, build business cases, and recommend actions that balance client experience, revenue growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term business objectives. - Provide strategic support for client growth and engagement initiatives by developing measurement frameworks, evaluating opportunities, assessing business impact, monitoring performance against targets, and establishing continuous learning processes to optimize outcomes over time.
- Lead client, segment, and portfolio analytics using advanced analytical techniques and data-driven approaches to identify behavioural trends, growth opportunities, performance drivers, emerging risks, and areas for strategic intervention.
- Oversee the development and continuous enhancement of business intelligence capabilities, including dashboards, scorecards, reporting frameworks, and self-service solutions that enable timely, consistent, and actionable decision-making across Canadian Banking.
- Translate complex analytical findings into compelling business narratives, delivering clear, concise, and actionable recommendations to senior executives and stakeholders through presentations, strategic updates, and executive-level communications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across business, analytics, technology, and external partner teams, effectively managing competing priorities, stakeholder expectations, and multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Drive innovation in analytics and business intelligence practices by identifying opportunities to modernize tools, processes, methodologies, and measurement approaches that improve scalability, efficiency, insight generation, and decision quality.
- Champion the adoption of cloud, automation, and modern data capabilities, ensuring analytics solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with the Bank's strategic technology direction.
- Lead and promote practical AI-enabled analytics and BI solutions that improve the speed, quality, consistency, and scalability of insight generation, while ensuring responsible use, knowledge sharing, governance, and measurable business outcomes.
- Develop, coach, and lead a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, innovation, and client-centric thinking. Provide guidance on analytical rigor, stakeholder management, project execution, and career development to maximize individual and team performance.
- Maintain a deep understanding of Canadian Banking priorities, client needs, competitive trends, and emerging industry best practices, leveraging this knowledge to inform analytical strategies and deliver impactful business recommendations.
- Champion a client-focused culture that deepens relationships and leverages the Bank's broader capabilities, systems, and expertise.
- Understand and apply the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decision-making.
- Actively pursue operational excellence while ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, controls, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks, including operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, privacy, and conduct risk obligations.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline; MBA, CFA, FRM, or master’s degree in Analytics is preferred.
- Extensive analytics, business intelligence, and decision-support experience, with strong business and financial acumen and a solid understanding of portfolio optimization, P&L levers, profit drivers, KPIs, growth initiatives, and performance measurement.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic analytical support for business initiatives, including working closely with campaign, product, pricing, finance, and channel teams to shape strategy, size opportunities, evaluate outcomes, and recommend actions.
- Strong business intelligence skills, including the ability to design, standardize, automate, enhance, and maintain reports, dashboards, scorecards, and performance measurement frameworks that support senior leadership and business decision-making.
- Proficiency with analytical and BI tools and platforms, including cloud computing, BigQuery, SQL, Python, R, SAS, Excel, Power BI, and equivalent dashboard/reporting platforms, supported by strong knowledge of advanced analytical concepts and methodologies.
- Proven ability to extract, interpret, and translate complex data into meaningful, actionable business insights quickly, accurately, and effectively.
- Proven leadership capability, including the ability to lead, develop, motivate, and guide productive analytics and BI teams in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate business needs, identify emerging risks and opportunities, challenge existing approaches, and recommend practical solutions that improve business outcomes and team effectiveness.
- Strong commitment to adopting new tools, technologies, automation, and process improvements to increase work efficiency, improve scalability, standardize reporting, and enhance the quality and timeliness of analytics and BI delivery.
- Demonstrated capability to identify, evaluate, and apply practical AI use cases within analytics and BI workflows to accelerate insight generation, improve analytical quality, automate repeatable tasks, and support responsible, effective adoption across teams.
- Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to business partners, senior stakeholders, and broad audiences.
- Strong prioritization, planning, project management, relationship-building, and people-management skills, with the ability to assess and manage multiple ongoing requests with urgency.
- Ability to prioritize business needs and provide effective support across Business Lines, Product Pricing, Customer Growth, Campaign teams, and Finance.
- Work in a standard hybrid environment (from home and office-based). Limited travel domestically & internationally.
