Purpose

Reporting to the Director, Centre of Excellence, the Senior Manager plays a strategic role in advancing Scotiabank’s leadership in serving newcomers and culturally diverse client segments. This role is responsible for shaping and executing cultural strategies across Canadian Wealth Management, leading high-impact communications, and managing cross-functional initiatives that enhance cultural relevance, advisor enablement, and client experience.

 

Accountabilities

  1. Strategic Planning & Business Enablement
    • Develop proposals, business cases, and activation plans that position Scotiabank as a leader in supporting newcomer and cultural client segments.
    • Identify emerging trends and opportunities within Canadian Wealth Management and recommend strategic responses.
    • Lead the planning and implementation of cultural programs, ensuring alignment to enterprise and CWM strategies and delivery of measurable outcomes.
    • Provide strategic insights, research, and recommendations to support leadership decision-making.

  1. Strategic Communications & Cultural Content Development
    • Develop and manage high-quality internal and external communications, including newsletters, presentations, web content, and campaign messaging.
    • Create and refine culturally relevant value propositions, content, and narratives for advisors, teams, and clients.
    • Maintain digital platforms with timely, engaging, and strategically aligned updates.
    • Support the development and rollout of cultural literacy materials, playbooks, and training resources.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts and business partners to ensure content accuracy and adoption across Canadian Wealth Management.

  2.  Project Leadership & Execution
    • Lead the end-to-end management of cultural initiatives, including governance, timelines, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Maintain comprehensive project lists, status updates, and scorecards to ensure visibility, alignment, and timely delivery.
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration across Canadian Banking, Wealth, Marketing, and enterprise partners.
    • Introduce innovation, process improvements, and best practices in project delivery.
    • Ensure strong project documentation, reporting, and communication to stakeholders and senior leaders.

  3. Relationship Building & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build strong partnerships across Canadian Banking, Wealth, Marketing, ERGs, DEI councils, and external partners to enable integrated execution of cultural strategies.
    • Represent the Centre of Excellence in meetings, working groups, and forums, sharing insights and gathering feedback.

  4. Risk Management, Culture & Values
    • Act as a subject-matter expert in cultural literacy, advising teams on newcomer needs, cultural insights, and advisor-facing opportunities.
    • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
    • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
    • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
    • Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in:
  • Project management, strategic planning, or business development
  • Marketing, content strategy, and communications
  • Client-focused roles in banking or related industries
  • Experience in the banking or wealth management industry is an asset
  • Master’s degree and/or certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile) are considered assets

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships across diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives with measurable outcomes
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on execution and impact
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and presentation development
