Title:  Senior Manager, Business Systems Analysis (Agile; Banking Solutions)

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director, Product Systems Business Analysis, the Senior Manager, Business Systems Analysis is responsible for the resolution of complex, multi-dimensional business challenges for the assigned Lines of Business.  This includes managing major multi-disciplinary initiatives to implement solutions to meet business needs and providing ongoing coaching and support to a team of 10 full-time employees and all assigned business.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Independently and collaboratively resolve highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs of the assigned Lines of Business, by applying advanced financial, business architecture and technological knowledge to the design of methodologies, models, and/or systems solutions.  This will require an Agile mind-set that is constantly focused on delivering value quickly based on business strategies and priorities.

• Manage multi-disciplinary initiatives to implement solutions to move the business and or department forward in strategic objectives.  This involves planning, securing, and scheduling resources, defining priorities, preparing business case proposals, developing implementation strategies, monitoring progress against planned objectives, financial review, and securing consensus and co-operation from stakeholders and senior management.

• Resource Management – Recruit, train and empower team members in an effective manner to deliver continuous value.  Allocate individual team members to bank priority initiatives.

• Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the team on the Division's business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, back office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions and services to the end user business lines.

• Effectively lead and coach team members in a performance oriented culture that is focused on the end customer, continuous learning and teamwork.

• Lead in the creation and maintaining of Business Technology Roadmaps that encompass a holistic view of business domains and the supporting technologies, including business and technical capability assessments and solutions to address gaps.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• You have 6 - 8 years of practical experience in the people management/leadership of IT resources.

• You have a good understanding of banking processes & workflows.

• You possess excellent communication (verbal/written/presentation) & interpersonal skills with either a technical or business audience.

• You have an Agile mindset & fully understand its principles.

• You possess the elements of critical thinking & thought leadership to effectively problem solve.

• You must be well organized, adaptable, highly motivated & creative

• You possess excellent analytical skills.

• You’re a self-starter people person, who is accustomed to working in an ambiguous environment.

• Technical working experience with business systems analysis is a strong asset.

• A good understanding of business architecture is an asset.

 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• A recognized post-graduate degree in business, econometrics, mathematics or a related discipline.
