The Senior Manager, Business Payments & GTB Operations plays a critical role in supporting the success of Global Transaction Banking Operations by leading initiatives that strengthen operational effectiveness, risk management, and client experience across global payments services. This role works closely with cross functional partners to diagnose, design, and implement improvements that enhance control environments, mitigate risk, and drive sustainable efficiencies.

- Champion a customer focused culture that deepens client relationships and leverages broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Lead end to end diagnostic, design, and implementation activities by partnering with cross functional teams across operations, technology, risk, and product.
- Document product flows, identifying high risk areas, manual touchpoints, and opportunities for automation and control enhancement.
- Assess the effectiveness of controls supporting key operational processes and recommend enhancements aligned with the Bank’s risk appetite.
- Contribute to the development of opportunity assessments, including tactical and strategic plans that support operational excellence and risk mitigation.
- Design and implement process, documentation, and communication improvements that reduce operational risk and improve efficiency.
- Proactively identify gaps across process, people, and technology, providing well considered recommendations through a continuous improvement mindset.
- Develop and execute strategies that enable operations to adapt to evolving regulatory, business, and risk requirements.
- Actively promote effective and efficient operations in alignment with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring strong day to day controls across operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Full Spanish fluency is an asset
- An undergraduate degree in business, technology, or a related discipline (BCom, BSc); an MBA is considered an asset
- 5–10 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong background in complex operational initiatives, process re engineering, change management, and technology enabled transformation.
- Expert knowledge of project management and process improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to work effectively across cross functional teams and manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex processes, identify risk, and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at multiple levels and geographies.
- A strong understanding of operational risk, compliance expectations, and the importance of governance and controls within financial services operations.
