Purpose :
The Senior Manager, Business Development supports the growth and visibility of our International Investment Advisory business. This role will work closely with the International Investment Advisory Branch Manager and their wealth advisor teams, focusing on international high-net-worth clients. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for driving business growth through strategic initiatives, strengthen collaboration with internal and external partners and delivering clear, actionable updates and reporting that supports decision-making and performance tracking. This role will act as a key execution arm for business development, communication, and project coordination across multiple regions and functions within Scotia Wealth Management
Contributes to the overall success of the International Investment Advisory, ScotiaMcLeod in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities :
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Strategic & Business Development Support Leadership :
• Lead the design and execution of strategic initiatives that advance the growth and visibility of the International Investment Advisory business.
• Develop and deliver high – impact presentation materials, pitch decks, and reports for leadership discussions, partner meetings, and advisor engagement sessions.
• Coordinate and manage communications, meetings, and follow-up actions with partners, relationship managers, and internal business lines.
• Plan and execute advisor, partner and client-facing events, including logistics, communications, and follow-up.
• Conduct & interpret complex market analysis and competitive intelligence to identify new business opportunities.
Strategic Communications & Marketing :
• Partner with the marketing team to position International Investment Advisory across internal and external channels, leveraging social media, including competitor benchmarking.
• Champion internal culture-building initiatives and recognition programs to strengthen engagement within the International Investment Advisory team.
• Create newsletters, internal and external posts and stakeholder communications.
Reporting, Strategic Planning & Execution :
• Own the development of performance dashboards, KPIs, and P&L analysis to inform IWM/ScotiaMcLeod leadership and key business partners.
• Lead strategic planning cycles by Tracking and reporting on KPIs, P&L trends on business performance, risk metrics (including country risk), initiative progress and support implementation.
• Monitor and manage the International Investment Advisory branch driven strategic roadmap, ensuring timely updates and alignment with business priorities.
• Act as a central point of coordination the primary liaison for cross-functional initiatives for the IIA Branch, ensuring alignment and accountability within IIA Management team.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and
effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience :
• Minimum 7 years of experience in business development, marketing, project management, or strategy within financial services or wealth management.
• Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills; proven track record of leading strategic initiatives and manage multiple projects across multiple business lines or regions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strategic marketing acumen with experience leading campaigns that drive business goals and brand engagement.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (PowerPoint, Excel, written materials and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI,).
• Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing several initiatives concurrently.
• Knowledge of wealth management KPIs, P&L, and strategic planning processes.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks
• Experience with event planning and social media strategy and content creation is an asset.
• Spanish or Portuguese is an asset
