The Global Performance Measurement Team is responsible for deploying, managing and maintaining performance measurement solutions which include Planning and Forecast applications, and Financial Information Systems within Scotiabank catering to various business lines and enterprise finance functions
The Senior Manager leads the FIS team in providing cost-efficient, effective, and timely development (i.e. systems enhancements), user testing, implementation, administration, maintenance, and production support for IT&S Finance systems to meet the financial information management needs of IT&S Finance and the broader IT organization. The incumbent leads the identification, assessment, and evaluation of technology solutions and opportunities to support IT&S Finance's objectives and plays a key project management role in delivering on the team's priorities. The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining best practices and procedures and oversees the management and completion of special projects, ad hoc analysis, and reporting requests.

- Lead and project manage financial systems initiatives and projects, by:
- Identifying, prioritizing and managing project plans (e.g. user agreements and sign-offs, resource requirements and key deliverables)
- Developing business case proposals, steering committee or executive management presentations
- Gathering requirements across pertinent user and stakeholder groups
- Designing system solutions and gaining acceptance from key stakeholders
- Providing a leadership and champion role in change management, communication and training regarding newly developed, acquired or enhanced financial system initiatives
- Lead the identification, assessment, and evaluation of technology solutions to support IT&S Finance
- Manage systems production, administration, and maintenance for assigned IT&S Finance and IT&S systems, including:
- Maintaining high quality and reliability in performance, availability, capacity, timeliness and connectivity of systems and reporting
- Ensuring consistency and integration between the various financial measurement systems and reporting
- Participating in the review of critical system problems and recommending viable solutions
- Developing, maintaining and managing efficient and reliable production processes
- Managing the resolution of system and reporting performance and connectivity issues
- Execute ongoing process and service re-design and continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with peers, IT&S Area clients, and vendors on projects
- Provide strong leadership to motivate and develop individual and team performance
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.

Strong SQL skills for querying and optimizing relational and OLAP databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) with 8-10 years of experience preferred.

5+ years of experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE).

Experience with MS SQL Server (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) and related applications.

Working knowledge of Financial Management tools (Oracle Hyperion Planning, Oracle Business Intelligence, etc.) and IT Financial Management tools (Apptio, vRealize, etc.) is preferred

Experience in Reporting tools such as Power BI, OBIEE - 5 years

Working knowledge of financial management and reporting processes

Ability to work independently, solving complex issues with creative and innovative solutions.

Finely tuned leadership skills, effective communication abilities (both verbal and written), with a client-focused service orientation

Ability to multi-task and deliver high-quality results under very tight deadlines; continuously assess priorities and business requirements, and balance between regular deliverables and project work

Ability to work effectively in a team environment with peers and superiors across organizational lines, and show negotiating tact and diplomacy in achieving objectives
