The Role
The Senior Manager, Anaplan COE will be a key member of our Center of Excellence (COE) in the FP&A Transformation team, responsible for building, updating, training, testing, supporting, and maintaining Anaplan models. This role involves collaborating with various business units, and the implementation team, to ensure that Anaplan models are effectively designed, built, and maintained to meet business needs. This role will ensure efficient and effective use of Anaplan across the organization and contribute to continuous improvement of our planning processes.

- Champion a customer‑focused culture by deepening client relationships and leveraging broader Bank systems, knowledge, and partnerships, while embedding the Bank’s risk appetite, risk culture, and operational controls into day‑to‑day decision‑making.
- Contribute to a high‑performance and inclusive work environment by actively supporting efficient operations aligned with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring adherence to operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk requirements.
- Support the development and maturity of the Anaplan Centre of Excellence, advising on operating model design and enabling both technical and functional enhancements across planning models and the overall solution landscape.
- Partner closely with stakeholders to understand evolving business needs, ensure alignment of Anaplan solutions to enterprise strategy, and contribute to ongoing transformation and innovation in planning processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and implementation partners to understand business processes and requirements, translate them into functional specifications and use cases, and craft well‑designed Anaplan models using the Anaplan Way methodology.
- Design and build connected Anaplan solutions, including architectural recommendations, module development, UX enhancements, data integrations, and reconciliation processes that support complex business planning needs.
- Conduct root‑cause analyses to resolve system issues, lead updates to existing models to incorporate changing requirements, maintain data integrity, manage access controls, and monitor overall system performance.
- Oversee and execute thorough testing of Anaplan models to ensure accuracy, robustness, and reliability, resolving defects and continuously optimizing the user experience.
- Lead training sessions, develop supporting documentation, and provide ongoing technical guidance and troubleshooting to end‑users to drive adoption, proficiency, and long‑term model sustainability.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience building, maintaining, and optimizing Anaplan models, with strong knowledge of the Anaplan Way methodology.
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, data management, and integrating data from multiple systems using modern integration tools and techniques.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into well‑structured model designs and functional requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence partners, articulate technical concepts, and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide junior team members while contributing to a collaborative, high‑performance team culture.
- Anaplan certification (e.g., Certified Master Anaplanner) and experience working in a Centre of Excellence or a centralized model‑building function.
- Experience supporting FP&A or financial planning processes and working in environments undergoing planning transformation.
