The Role:
The Senior Manager, Advisor Deposit Services, contributes to the overall success of Advisor Deposits Services (ADS) within Retail Deposits and Investments in Canada and supports the Director, Pricing, Portfolio Management and Advisor Deposit Services in leading and overseeing the team, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

- Implement key pillars of the ADS business strategy by leading and partnering on strategic projects and initiatives that strengthen the ADS value proposition and support sustainable portfolio growth.
- Lead multiple projects as required including internal and vendor systems upgrades and regulatory initiatives, ensuring objectives are met and delivered on time and within budget.
- Be accountable for aggregating new ideas for growth incorporating team feedback to evaluate their potential on a cost/value benefit basis including writing business cases. Lead and implement new projects that add value to ADS and Retail Deposits. Project activities will include:

- Business Casing – costing, quantifying opportunity, evaluating needed process changes, and understanding possible downstream effects.
- Establishing project goals and timelines.
- Handle troubleshooting and arising issues.
- Socialize viable projects.

- Lead, manage and implement all ADS compliance and regulatory initiatives and requirements and ensure all regulatory requirements are met. Co-ordinate the ADS position with regulatory support, compliance, the CASL program team, Dynamic/1832 AM and vendors to build and maintain processes that are regulatory and CASL compliant. This includes, but is not limited to, drafting templates, holding meetings, monitoring completion, and documenting process maps and reconciliation process.
- Build strong relationships with internal business lines, Wealth partners, dealers, advisors and external organizations to understand needs, validate opportunities and enable execution. Partner with Dealer Relations, Business Development and Marketing to develop positioning, advisor communications, launch materials and supporting tools for new initiatives.
ADS Product Strategy
- In conjunction with the Director, drive the development and implementation of ADS deposit product strategy (including ISAs and GICs) by:

- Creating and maintaining a product development plan incorporating planned initiatives, and a longer-term (1-3 year) vision for the delivery of deposit products and programs.
- Assessing the economic and financial feasibility of new product opportunities, using market intelligence and advisor, dealer, client and product insights to identify emerging opportunities, competitive risks and actions required to protect and grow the ADS portfolio.
- Lead approved initiatives from concept through implementation and post-launch review, by leading end-to-end development and execution of priority ADS initiatives, (e.g. new market and business growth opportunities, new products/programs-including pricing strategy and product limits, new sales management and channel strategies etc).
- Collaborate to develop the ADS pricing strategy in conjunction with the Retail Deposits Pricing team for new initiatives to ensure financial targets are achieved.

Product Management / Development:
- Evaluate and provide recommendation regarding the operational feasibility and cost/benefit impact of new/ enhanced products, programs, and initiatives.
- Develop operational, compliance and regulatory policies/procedures, job aids and manual changes as new products/programs/initiatives are introduced.
- Collaborating with the Operations/Projects/Finance department to ensure that the procedures/enhancements are in place to deal with any new or modified products; overseeing the development and implementation of workaround solutions to address impact of new initiatives.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Ensure initiatives are supported by appropriate processes, controls, procedures, communications, training and performance reporting and comply with governing regulations, internal policies and the Bank’s risk appetite.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree / MBA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in product management within the broker/dealer channel
- Strong understanding of Wealth businesses including CIRO Channels and Banking Regulations (FCAC, OSFI)
- Solid understanding of outside market and competitive products.
- Excellent analytical and market research skills.
