Purpose


Contributes to the overall success of the Global GBM AML Risk team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities 

 

•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
•    Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
•    Responsible for the communications and maintenance of ongoing updates to various lists that are required for the successful and timely run of certain automated transaction monitoring rules.  This task involves organization and regular communication with the impacted GBM regional teams, AML List Management and other partners (i.e.: Technology and Models teams)  
•    Takes a lead on the day-to-day issues or requests that are brought forward by the GBM regional teams, documenting all requests from initial observation to resolution. 
•    Supporting the APAC regional team to ensure regulatory requirements have sufficient coverage.
•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
•    Champions a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team. 
•    Assists in the testing and tuning of the GBM AML Risk monitoring program.
•    Identifies solutions or develops programs to support Global GBM AML Risk in automating repeated processes, including alert reviews, MIS reporting and periodic file preparations. 
•    Provides GBM AML analytical support for ad hoc initiatives and issue resolution. Conducts analytical and system trainings to facilitate knowledge transfer and methodology standardization.

 

Education / Experience

 

•    Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, related field or equivalent experience.
•    Expert knowledge of Global Banking and Markets and Banking business unit functions, procedures, cash management and payment products, capital and financial markets, policies and how the various supporting units interact;
•    Thorough written and verbal skills required to prepare communications and interact effectively with other Bank departments and external parties;
•    Successful AML Program remediation and/or transformation experience;
•    Minimum of 5+ years in financial services operations and AML/ATF compliance;
•    ACAMS certification preferred;

•    Strong managerial, communications, analytical, organizational, project management, and planning skills;
•    Thorough knowledge of related regulatory requirements including KYC, AML, Anti-Terrorist Financing Policies, Compliance Control & Operational Risk Self-Assessments legislation and procedures;
•    Expert knowledge of AML/ATF regulatory requirements and expectations as well as specific regulatory expectations and industry practices related to transaction monitoring controls; 
•    Possess excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; 
•    Demonstrated track record of collaborating in team environments and taking the lead to drive results;
•    Exceptionally self-motivated and self-directed
•    Excellent presentational skills; outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
•    Degree in computer science or related field.
•    A minimum of 3 years’ experience, or educational equivalent, in compliance or business administration within a financial institution setting or professional services/management consulting firm.
•    Demonstrated experience in the use of AML related software/systems
•    Demonstrated experience in use of analytics software, i.e., SAS, SQL etc
