This role is responsible for leading monthly reporting, forecasting, annual planning, controls, business support and financial analysis for technology partners, ensuring that activities are completed accurately, on time, provides insight & support decision making.
These activities may include detailed review & documentation of process workflows, interaction with Management within the organization and across various business lines, development and implementation of new processes and policies to improve efficiencies and enhance controls.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Support month end close activities end to end
- Support Monthly review of actual results using Access Database file (MARS) & PeopleSoft to ensure accuracy
- Investigate and timely reporting of monthly financial variances with commentary
- Assist tailored monthly financial reports for Senior Management (e.g. CIO & VPs)
- Assist quarterly close reporting and provide commentaries to various partners
- Assist the monthly Accrual, Reclass, Charge Backs & other entries
- Prepare various financial and accounting reports as needed.
- Assist monthly forecasting activities and preparation of Annual Plans for CIO area by working closely with business partners and understanding business needs
- Prepare monthly headcount report and providing insightful analysis on new hires, backfills, attrition, contractor conversion, vacancies etc.)
- Manage actuals and forecast for technology expenses (e.g. software and market data services)
- Research, Analysis & Implementation: Contribute to the development and implementation of new accounting and financial processes.
- Study and recommend opportunities for cost controls and savings within Technology Organization.
- Recommend and implement changes that would contribute towards streamlining current accounting processes and creating greater consistency and efficiencies.
- Ad-hoc reports and any other duties as may be assigned
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- 3-5 years of post-university work experience in FP&A or related field
- Accounting designation (CPA/CMA/CGA) is an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Copilot)
- Knowledge of and familiarity with various Bank’s accounting systems is an asset
- Experience in developing/compiling management reports
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a team player who can act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required
- Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
- The incumbent must be a creative, self-starting, results-oriented, great attention to detail, and highly motivated individual with good analytical skills in order to apply this knowledge to assist in the development of the streamlined accounting processes.
