Job Purpose:

Contributes to the overall success of the Planning, Forecasting & Analysis team in Technology Finance ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Assists Senior Manager to champion a customer-focused culture, leverages system and finance knowledge to maintain strong relationships with various IT&S areas.
  • Assists in development of financial plan and forecasts for selected groups
  • Assists in month-end close, i.e., accrual review, key charges monitoring
  • Assists Senior Manager in the information gathering process and analysis, including ad hoc requests as required
  • Prepares financial reports, i.e., actuals, forecast and plan
  • Owns GBS accrual and payment operations
  • Contributes to the maintenance of strong financial governance through implementing best practices. 
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Will require over-time during peak periods – quarter-end, forecasting and plan cycles


Experience / Education:


  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient MS Office user: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint 
  • Strong analytical and independent problem resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong sense of self-awareness and drive to work in a performance driven, results-oriented team
  • Highly flexible and strong ability to multi-task to be able to strive in a continuously changing environment with rigorous deadlines
  • Knowledge of financial and management reporting principles as applied to banking issues, and an understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets and internal controls
  • Post-secondary degree in Finance or Accounting with minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field with progress towards a professional designation (e.g. CPA, CFA) or graduate degree (e.g. MBA) preferred
