The Senior Financial Analyst contributes to the overall success of the Planning, Forecasting & Analysis team in Technology Finance ensuring specific individual and departmental goals are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. It ensures all activities conducted within the Business Cases, and Contracts going to Technology board of Directors are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures and aligning with funding authorized plans.
 
Key Accountabilities :

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Contributes to all aspects of the Technology Finance business case review process and the financial review of key IT contracts. 
  • Acts as Finance relationship manager for business cases and technology project spend; providing financial guidance to technology partners, identifying and communicating financial-related issues (e.g. actual/committed vs. budget/forecast), and obtaining inputs for bottom-up forecasting, planning, and variance analysis.
  • Prepares and presents complex financial data and information in a meaningful, concise and user-friendly manner for Technology Finance management.
  • Contributes to the maintenance of strong financial governance through implementing best practices. Supports audit requests and the communication of financial policies, guidelines and Bank practices.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Experiene / Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field with progress towards a professional designation (e.g. CPA, CFA) or graduate degree (e.g. MBA) preferred
  • Knowledge of financial and management reporting standards applied to banking issues (e.g. Intangibles), and understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets and internal controls
  • Strong technical skills in MS Excel (MS Excel VBA would be an asset)
