POSITION SUMMARY

 

This role is responsible supporting the Finance manager with for the preparation and analysis of the monthly, quarterly, and annual results, forecasting, planning (including 5-year strategic plan), for Canadian Wealth Management (CWM) Team of Experts support group (TOE).   

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Coordinate the development and preparation of Finance reports for Team of Experts support group. The individual is responsible for monitoring results against appropriate performance measurement criteria and key business metrics:
•    Monthly Headcount reporting and quarterly headcount analysis
•    Monthly expenses analysis
•    Monthly Reporting Packages 
•    Various KPI reporting and analysis 


2. Responsible for preparing the Strategic & Annual Profit Plan, Scenarios, and Monthly Forecasting cycles, including:
•    Updating planning/forecasting models and provide commentary
•    Preparation and distribution of the annual budget packages for all stakeholders 
•    Assist transit owners in completing their department budget
•    Monitoring and uploading the budgets/forecasts onto Hyperion 
•    Preparation of consolidated and completion of analytics
•    variance to plan and previous forecasts analysis  
3. Responsible for the development, maintenance, and update of financial models in support of new initiatives and projects proposed by the Business Heads:
•    Assist Business Heads in analyzing the financial impact of new initiatives through the modeling of different scenarios and parameters
•    Provide recommendations to Senior Management
•    Provide Profitability Analysis 
•    Preparing marketing campaign financial impact analysis
4. Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
5. Provide resolutions for finance-related issues and support to key stakeholders as required.
6. Manage Financial Analyst intern for successful month-end processes.

7. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Preferred Accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA) or MBA and 2 years related work experience is required 
•    Be a self-starter, results-focus, and highly motivated individual with the ability to multi-task
•    Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication abilities to direct varied activities within tight deadlines
•    Excellent financial analysis skills with a solid grasp of Bank profitability and performance measurement tools/criteria are essential, as is a demonstrated ability to conceptualize problems and clearly apply analytical techniques for evaluating investments to make sound financial recommendations to Senior Manager / Manager
•    Working knowledge of financial software such as OBI, Hyperion, or Peoplesoft
•    Strong Excel skills are a prerequisite (Pivot Tables, Vlookup, Sumif, Sumproduct, etc.)
•    Nice to have experience with Power Query and PowerBI
•    Superior influencing skills with excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills to build consensus and obtain co-operation 
•    Exemplary customer service, including professional advice and creative solutions, is required

This position requires strong customer service attitude and pro-active attitude to resolve complex business issues. The position requires high level of flexibility to adapt quickly to a dynamic business environment.
