Job Purpose
The Senior Manager, Development, is accountable for the strategy, evaluation, and implementation of technology solutions that support Digital Banking Business Initiatives as well as securing the compliance with security and bank regulations across our Core banking application tiers. This role is also responsible for managing a team of IT professionals (direct and indirect reports), coaching the team to maintain a performance stage, and grooming the team to achieve an adjourning stage.

- Manages a team of IT professionals (direct and indirect reports) and is responsible for systems analysis, application software, programming and support.
- Manages the team in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning and standard development practices.
- Negotiates IT project requirements (i.e. deadlines, budgets, resources, etc.).
- Manages communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort being managed.
- Builds and maintains a strong working relationship with peers within the business lines.
- Participates in budgeting processes and quality improvement activities for the department.
- Accountable for managing assigned project and/or departmental budgets.
- Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner, are in compliance with IT Technology Roadmap and has an in-depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing and implementing software projects and programs.
- Establish and maintain forecasting for staffing and capacity
- Collaborates with Release Management and Development teams to ensure successful planning and implementations.
- Establish and improve processes to increase efficiency of the team.
- Maintain Audit, eSox, Security and Accessibility compliance at all times.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Project Management, preference PMP
- Agile Framework experience (SCRUM, Kanban)
- Web application Architecture concepts, components, models, patterns
- Knowledge of a variety of frameworks (server side, browser side, desktop, etc.)
- Knowledge of a variety of technologies and frameworks (HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, Knockout, Angular, React, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of agile principles and project management methodologies
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to distill technical details into human terms and to influence decision making across stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor team members with differing opinions and levels of experience
- Project management skills to map and execute short- and long-term plans for the team
- Effective organization, planning, and time management skills
