We are seeking an experienced Senior Delivery Lead with expertise in Agile methodologies and scaling to join our forward-thinking team. As a Delivery Lead, you will take the helm of a Delivery Team or POD, oversee development projects, and ensure the successful implementation of Agile practices. You will lead a team of talented developers, guide them through complex technical challenges, and drive innovation in software development. All while ensuring all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

- Demonstrated strong capability to run initiatives in a scaled environment, where there are multiple teams and verticles working.
- Experienced in leading large scale programs with set budgets and timelines.
- Able to Lead a squad/POD with multiple teams and competing priorities involved. Responsible for all interconnected projects within a Squad/Pod.
- Plan and manage large-scale development and implementation programs to ensure that the programs business objectives and stakeholder needs and expectations are met
- Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations
- Strong knowledge of Agile Methodoligies and best practices in Delivery and being able to join other teams to support when needed. Work closely with other Delivery Leads to ensure the success of the programs and the projects.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospective) and longer-term planning exercises (Release Planning, Release Train Planning).
- Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution. Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and resolved.
- Needs to be expert in estimating and planning. Knows how to create useful, reliable, and practical plans for software development projects.
- A background in Microservice development will help to guide the team, solve technical challenges, and make informed decisions.
- Bring in technical expertise or productive discussions with the already acquired technical skills in software development with Architects and Technical lead.
- Guide and participate with team to get to educated estimates with the technical background and solution design experience.
- Work with a team to identify roadmap/feature dependencies and impediments. Being accountable for tracking the dependencies and impediments and removing them to enable the team: surface, track, escalate.
- Assists in the identification and mitigation of project risks.
- Conducts regular assessments of a team Agile Maturity and uses the results to guide them to improved performance.
- Provide regular, standardized reporting for team performance: velocity, stories completed and project status.
- Responsible for project and portfolio level reporting for all initiatives/projects; includes tracking, status reporting, executive dashboards etc.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities
- Exceptional leadership skills to review processes and procedures to create efficiencies, eliminate duplication and provide organization support to achieve business objectives
- Strong relationship management with an ability to establish productive relationships between various leaders, departments and partners across the organization
- The Delivery Lead is accountable for the overall planning, execution, management and delivery of Project to ensure delivery on the business strategy and project objectives in the Business Case by managing the delivery process end to end.
- Oversee all project activities and team members for assigned projects to ensure project goals and objectives are accomplished within approved time frames, scope and budget.
- Prepare and maintain a project plan and schedule that accurately reflects the critical path tasks, time estimates, dependencies and resources (including personnel, technology and equipment) associated with each task, ensuring the inclusion of all required System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) artifacts and processes as defined in the Delivery Framework.
- Track and report project progress against requirements and project objectives throughout the project life cycle. Regularly communicate status to project stakeholders using agreed communication strategy.
- Manage project risks and issues proactively by identification, assessment, ongoing management and reporting of project risks and issues. Timely escalation of risks and issues to senior management and key stakeholders as required ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to mitigate risks and resolve issues. Monitor and report on project cost variance over the project lifecycle.
- Good content creation and presentation skills, that are concise and clear to convey messages to all audiences.
- Manage and collaborate with control functions and business units as appropriate and work with external partners (Scotiabank, vendors, regulators, etc.) where needed.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders from IT and Business areas.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master and Delivery Lead with a minimum of 7+ years of hands-on development experience.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.). Proficiency in Service Now and similar ticketing tools
- Proven Experience in working in a scaled model.
- Certification in one of the scaled methodologies; SAFe, LeSS, S@S, Nexus
- Hands-on experience leading release management activities for successful delivery of product launches
- Understands backlog tracking, Scrum and Kanban based metrics, task definition, story splitting.
- Strong background in API, microservices, working with banks is a big plus.
- Knowledge and experience with Agile techniques – Automated Testing, User Stories, Continuous Integration, Testing, etc.
- Demonstrated high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working experience in JIRA/Confluence
- Deep understanding of software design principles and patterns.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Scotiabank’s operations in order to understand and lead the implementation of strategic initiatives across a number of disciplines preferred is an asset
- Having certification in PMP, CSM, and Scaling Scrum are an asset
