Purpose

Business Banking is seeking a Senior Delivery Lead to engage on the management of solutions to business banking. This role focuses execution-focused on business banking application suite that replaces legacy capabilities with API-first, cloud-native, loosely coupled services and experiences, integrating internal and third-party platforms.

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Banking, you will be working with our business partners as well as engineering, product, security, data, infrastructure and other application teams to deliver production-ready solutions aligned to enterprise standards for security, resiliency, scalability, availability, and regulatory compliance.

 

This is a hands-on role. You are expected to understand the business application as well is its dependency system as well as leading a team of delivery leads across the business banking domain

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of the digital and assisted channel of the business banking onboarding application
  • Own the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Ensure applications within the business domain is update to date with security and software currency. Keeping application free of known vulnerabilities.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on guidance in Java/React/Pega application development, data integration, and API design to support project goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities.
  • Agile Delivery: Drive agile practices (Scrum/Kanban), ensuring iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify technical and delivery risks early, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure timely resolution.
  • CI/CD Integration: Oversee integration of automated builds, tests, and deployments using tools like Jenkins, PDM, Gradle, and Git.
  • Mentorship: Coach and mentor team members on best practices in development, data engineering, and agile delivery.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of business banking and/or delievery lead experience with at least five years of managing projects of a large cross-functional team
  • Strong understanding of technologies (SQL, application, ETL).
  • Experience with API development, microservices architecture, and integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Git, Gradel, PDM).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning for Java/React applications and Pega.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with business banking

Technology Environment

  • You will work within a modern engineering environment that may include (not all required):
  • Backend: Java (Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, JDK 17+) and/or Node.js / Next.js / Pega
  • Frontend: React
  • Data: MongoDB, SQL
  • Integration: REST/SOAP APIs, OAuth, Backend-for-Frontend (BFF)
  • Cloud: GCP, Azure
  • Delivery: JIRA, Confluence
  • Pega 24+ (preferred)

Education & Mindset

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Business banking or financial services experience preferred.
  • Customer-first mindset with strong risk awareness; bias for clarity, quality, and execution.

 

 

Working Conditions

Work in a standard office-based environments located in Scarborough and Downtown Toronto; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. No external travel required.
