About the Senior Content Strategist

  • You will greatly influence the communication design of experiences that touch 23M+ users every day
  • You are an expert English-language writer and storyteller who can deliver human-friendly, readable and engaging content in the right format at the right time
  • You will understand our users and you are able to synthesize research outcomes into viable content and communication experiences
  • You bring a high level of technical acuity and experience with content management systems and in the of creation of content modules; you will be responsible for the creation, publication, and governance of useful and usable content across multiple digital experiences  
  • You have a deep interest and experience with a content strategy toolkits including: content audits, communication theory/strategy, taxonomic structures, metadata frameworks and semantic theory
  • You care deeply about creating better, smarter content that energizes and educates people with the end goal of helping them become better off financially
  • You can develop content requirements, including structured content and adaptive content recommendations
  • You enjoy mentoring and will provide ongoing coaching to fellow content writers and user experience designers
  • You will drive best practices for creating and managing content across multiple digital experiences
  • You are open, persuasive, engaging and love to have a good laugh – you also know when it’s important to get serious and be a champion for the end user
  • You aspire to be a leader who can speak compellingly — and become a trusted adviser — to executive leadership, senior management, and subject matter experts, and who can work as the only content strategist on the team

 

Expected Skills & Competencies

  • 14+ years as a content strategist, copywriter or digital content manager
  • A demonstrable portfolio of work (professional and personal) which showcases the digital applications you’ve worked on and includes examples of your story-telling skills
  • A positive and resilient personality. You must be able to embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement
  • Comfortable working in a self-guided manner
  • Comfortable working within tight timeframes and with working creatively within specific constraints
  • A demonstrable history of applying design thinking tenants and user centered design principles to challenges at work or in everyday life
  • Ability to work within content guidelines with a desire to push existing standards to the next level
  • A fast learner who has an appetite to learn what’s behind both simple and complex financial solutions

 

Bonus Skills and Interests

  • First-hand experience developing in CSS, HTML and/or JavaScript
  • Ability to build and execute design research methodologies or user testing protocols in a rapid development environment
  • Demonstrated interest in tangential fields like typography, design research, big data, fine art, music, journalism, etc.
  • A background in Fintech or other financial related products
